An Omega's Omega (Book 1 In Equaliser Series)

Chapter 1

Greyson woke with a start as a fist collided with his stomach, he let out no sound. He had long since gone numb to the pain. This was a regular occurrence and he was too scared to fight back as their cruel treatment only worsened when he did. Greyson with his misty blue eyes, small stature and soft blond hair. With his feminine body was the smallest male in the pack of Hillclaw. The pack did not care for his suffering they only wished to inflict more pain on him.

"Get up omega mutt we have a visiting pack today, Alpha says he wants the place spotless and you out of sight when they arrive. As well as food and drinks prepared understood," Said a warrior lowly before slapping Greyson across the face and taking his leave to go patrol borders.

Greyson groaned when his body protested the movement as he tried to get up. Due to the beatings he received on a daily basis he was constantly in pain. He got himself ready and straightened up before crawling up from the basement and into the kitchen. It was deserted as no-one could be bothered to cook that was all left to Greyson. He began preparing the food along with cleaning the entire house top to bottom. When he had finished cooking and cleaning it was 11:50 only ten minutes till their guests arrived. Grayson quickly scampered off into his basement and crawled onto his bed. He then set an alarm for when the quests would be gone. He settled with a book that he had read many times and kept an ear out for danger. He was always in danger here.

Nicholas and his brother Elijah the alpha of his pack are travelling with their packs gamma and Delta to the Hillclaw pack to make an alliance. They left the beta of the pack in charge while they were absence. And even though Nicholas himself is an omega he helps with the pack finances, seeing as he graduated valedictorian of his course in the pack's university.

"Now brother, be sure to stay close," said Elijah as they pulled up to the packhouse.

"You don't have to worry about that. Remember what almost happened last time" Spoke Nicholas as he thought back to the time a beta had tried to take advantage of him.

"I remember and I don't want it to happen again," sighed Elijah as the car stopped in front of Hillclaw's packhouse.

"Welcome Alpha Elijah and company we look forward to having you" spoke Alpha Carter  with a flourish as the Frostfang pack exited their car.

"Thank you for hosting us Alpha Carter" stated Elijah as he pushed his brother further in the centre between him and his gamma and Delta.

"If you'll come this way I'll show you to your quarters" replied Alpha Carter as his eyes shifted through the group before settling on Nicholas.

"I'll have someone put that omega in the basement out of sight," said Alpha Carter with distaste. motioning to  one of his warriors who then reached out towards Nicholas.

"You'll do no such thing. Nicholas is my brother and the pack's financial officer" Snarled Elijah as he grabbed the warriors arm and snapped it backwards. The warrior whimpered in pain and backed away in the submission of the new alpha.

"Very well, just make sure you keep your mutt on a leash," said Alpha Carter, venomously eyeing Nicholas like he was a toy to be broken.

After the pleasantries were dispensed with the party of four was led to their quarters. On the way, Nicholas picked up a faint scent that made his wolf perk up. The need to investigate strong but he knew better than to wander off alone in an unfamiliar place. After they were taken to their rooms, they were left alone for a while. Nicholas knew that the scent was that of his mate and he knew that he had to find him or her at any cost.

"Brother I smell my mate here but the scent is faint" whimpered Nicholas as he sat on one bed on the right side of the room whilst his brother lay on the bed on the left side.

"Do you think you could track them if you caught the scent again" replied Elijah as he watched how anxious and nervous his brother was with the need to find his mate.

"What do I do I feel as though something bad is happening to them," said Nicholas as he paced back and forth his wolf becoming restless to find his mate.

"Come on then I'll help you find them" hurried Elijah opening the door to their room and allowing his brother to follow the scent of his mate.

They hurried down the corridors Nicholas' nose leading the way as they descended staircases and ran through rooms until they came to a small door hatch in the kitchen. Nicholas let out a low whine as the scent intensified. He opened the hatch door and dropped into the basement. He spotted two werewolves in the room one was Alpha Carter and the other was a small man being pummelled by the alphas fists.

"Mate" Nicholas called out to the man at which he got a pained whimper in reply.

"Ah, I was hoping you'd stray little rat" Sneered Alpha Carter as he readied his bloody fists to strike at Nicholas. Nicholas however had been trained to avid and avoid. When the alpha swung at him he dropped onto the floor and slid through his legs. kicking the Alpha in his family jewels watching him fall over groaning in pain clutching his groin. Nicholas took that opportunity to run to his mate and assess his injuries. He looked upon his mates face bloodied and swollen but Nicholas had never seen such a perfect creature.

"Isn't this sweet" Alpha Carter spoke as he approached the two omegas ready to beat them into submission.

"Not another step towards my brother and his mate" snarled Elijah as he dropped into the room knocking the alpha over and rendering him immobile by breaking both of his legs preventing Alpha Carter from following them.

"The alliance will go ahead but I will never personally come back here," said Elijah a growl rising in his voice as he carefully picked up Nicholas' now unconscious mate and carried his brother on his back making his way to their car where the gamma and delta were waiting before heading straight to their packhouse. The pack doctor already being told to ready a place in their packs clinic. Nicholas' mate needed serious medical attention.
