Chapter 8

The days had flown by with Nicholas busy helping Elijah with gala invites and preparation and Greyson painting away portraits of the pack. Brendon even got him to paint landscape and scenarios which Brendon sold and Greyson had money coming in.

This was quite a substantial achievement for Greyson because this was the first-ever time he had earned money in his life. Today was the gala and Nicholas hoped Elijah would find his mate and Greyson would be okay in such proximity to his old alpha.

Now himself and Greyson were in their room getting ready for the party. Nicholas watched as Greyson set out his outfit before going into the bathroom to shower. While he was waiting for Greyson he got himself ready in a navy suit and vest with a lighter blue tie. Greyson's suit matched his but were opposite colours. His head perked up when he heard the shower stop and Greyson walk into the room with only his boxers on

He then advances on Greyson trapping him against the wall as their lips pressed together in an urgent kiss. The kind of kiss that said I'm about something which could go wrong on Greyson's part and reassurance from Nicholas' part.

"You'll be fine my love I may only be an omega but I will protect you as will the pack as the bloodline of this pack rest within us for the time being. Elijah and Brendon will protect you as well no need to fear" Nicholas whispered soft pulling away from their shared kiss.

"Okay I try to not be afraid but I know old pack members are there what If they hurt me" Greyson whimpered his hands balling fists in Nicholas suit jacket as tears gathered in his eyes.

"Now, Now Grey well get through today and then in another two weeks we can get all the pups checked" whispered Nickolas putting is hand on Greyson's stomach and placing Greyson's hand on his own stomach.

After their brief exchange of words and caresses after Greyson got dressed the pair of omega's lay with their heads together in silent bliss. That bliss, however, was soon interrupted by a knock on their room followed by Elijah walking in with his eyes half-covered as if expecting something. When Elijah's eyes caught sight of both omega's clothed and tangled with each other in another of a series of cute poses Elijah had seen the two in.

"Brother we have to go to the hall now to greet the guests as they come in" Elijah spoke softly catching the frightened gaze from Greyson no doubt worrying due to old pack members being here.

"Okay, Elijah" Nicholas replied getting up and pulling Greyson with him as they followed behind Elijah.

Nicholas walked behind his brother with his head held high as Greyson pushed into his side with his head lowered in fear. He nudged Greysons side and the other omega lifted his head slightly. When they arrived inside the hall all the first were already there mingling. Nicholas followed Elijah to the stage with Greyson attached to his hip not that he was complaining the sparks from their touch following between them.
When they released the podium Elijah began to talk.

"Ladies and Gentlemen we are gathered here to celebrate the Frostfangs pack annual gala. This gala is a place where alliances are forged and mates found. So I encourage you to talk and to celebrate into the wee hours of the night. And now my Brother Nicholas Is no longer looking for his mate as he has found his mate in Greyson" Spoke Elijah his voice full of authority with his voice Harding at the end as he caught lustful stares of other males looking at Nicholas in Greyson.

Just to make a point Nicholas pulled Greyson flush against him and pulled the collar of Greyson's shirt back just enough to reveal his Mark on Greyson before placing his lips on the exposed flesh. He then pulled back his own shirt to show of Greyson's mark on his shoulder. Nicholas chuckled when he heard curses coming from many of the unmated males in the hall.

Nicholas then led Greyson towards a sitting area full of food. They got a two-person table in the corner out of the way just watching the wolves from other packs interact with each other. Nicholas watches Elijah as his brother approached a young woman before pulling her against him and claiming her lips in a hungry kiss. It seems Elijah finally found his mate. Nicholas then returned his attention to Greyson who still looked fearful and on edge.

"My love, have some food with me," Nicholas said gesturing to the food on the table in front of them.

"Okay but only if you feed me" replied Greyson his fear forgotten as he opened his mouth.

Nicholas chuckled before cutting a piece of steak and placing it in Greyson's mouth. Greyson then did the same for Nicholas. They soon got into their meal both getting immense enjoyment from their close proximity. Nicholas wiped a bit of sauce from Greyson's lips and put his finger in his mouth watching as Greyson's eyes followed the movement. Nicholas then gasped in surprise as Greyson kissed him feverishly.

"Well isn't this nice," a voice said interrupting their make-out session. Nicholas felt Greyson stiffen at the sound of the voice. And instantly knew it was Alpha Carter.

"How can we help you Alpha Carter," asked Nicholas trying to sound respectful and polite.

"Oh, it's nothing I just wanted to see how my mutt was doing" sneered Alpha Carter. Nicholas clenched his jaw in anger.

"Is there a problem here" Elijah growled as his mate pushed against his back calming him slightly.

"Nothing at all Alpha Elijah," said Carter slightly afraid of the other alpha fur to their previous altercation.

"Good now leave these two alone I see you've met your mate" Elijah spoke anger taking up his being when in the corner of his eye Greyson was cowering. The stress wasn't good for the pup or pups he was going to have.

"Yes I did her name's Verona, I'll be leaving now. Goodbye mutts" said Alpha Carter walking away quickly to avoid a furious Elijah.

"Thank you Alpha," Greyson said giving Elijah a hug which stopped Elijah's rage as this was the first time Greyson had touched him willingly without being prompted.

As soon as Greyson was sure Elijah was calm he turned and sat on Nicholas' lap and pressed his lips to Nicholas' neck continuing where they left off before they were interrupted. Nicholas quickly said his goodbyes and himself and Greyson rushed to their room to be intimate. Each taking turns at being bottom as neither had a favourite position. Soon after their lovemaking they had shifted into their wolves and curled up to sleep.
