No One's POV

Today was new years eve and everyone was at Donghyuck's house for a new year's party. Donghyuck invited almost everyone he knew, meaning he invited Chenle, Jaemin, Jisung, Renjun, Doyoung, Mark, Jungwoo, Johnny, Jeno and anyone else you can think of. Donghyuck also wanted there to be alcohol, but his parents said that if he had alcohol at his party they would destroy his shrine of Michael Jackson and all of his albums. So, Donghyuck just decided on some apple cider in little shot glasses to be the drinks instead.

Music was blasting and everyone was dancing, talking among themselves, or standing by the snack bar being lonely like Renjun. All his friends left them. Jisung and Chenle were dancing together on the dance floor, Doyoung and Jungwoo were talking to Jeno on Donghyuck's leather couch, Donghyuck was talking with Mark and Johnny in the corner of the house, and Jaemin was nowhere to be seen.

Renjun sighed as he got another chocolate chip cookie from the plate on the counter. This was his fifth cookie and he honestly was starting to feel sick, but he didn't really care because the chocolaty cookie's sweet taste made him feel slightly better. He thought of the past week and how Jaemin and Jeno somehow became friends after Renjun forgave him and they were now on good terms. His thoughts then got cut off as he saw the door open revealing a rushed Jaemin. Renjun smiled as he ran over to Jaemin and enveloped the sun-blonde into a hug.

He smiled and laughed happily. "You finally made it, Jaem! I thought I was going to be alone all night!"

Jaemin smiled at the older's bubbly behavior. "I would never let my best friend be alone on new years, that's just absurd!"

Renjun smiled before letting go of Jaemin to be in front of him. "What should we do? We have..." He quickly pulled his phone out of his pocket to see the time, "two hours until midnight."

"Hmm...maybe we could go talk to Chenle and Jisung." He than saw the two freshman were being sickeningly sweet to each other and cuddling on Donghyuck's second couch. "Okay, maybe not."

"We could go talk to Donghyuck, Johnny, and Mark." Renjun shrugged.

"Yeah, I'm totally in the mood to go talk to my annoying ass brother that I have to deal with everyday at a party." Jaemin joked, rolling his eyes playfully.

Renjun chuckled and Jaemin then squinted his eyes. "Hey, isn't that Jeno talking to Donghyuck, Johnny and Mark as well?"

Renjun turned his head to see that, in fact, Jeno was there and laughing at something Mark was saying making Renjun scrunch his nose up in confusion. Nothing Mark said was ever funny, it was sad, but true.

He then looked around to see what Jungwoo or Doyoung were doing. He saw Jungwoo dancing with some boy he didn't know and Doyoung was talking with another boy he didn't know. Renjun decided just to let them be.

"Maybe we should just talk about...things? I don't know." Renjun said, suddenly feeling very awkward and he didn't even know why. He was never awkward or nervous around Jaemin because they always found something to do or say, but something about now was somehow different.

"Yeah, maybe..." Jaemin then got an idea. "Oh! Doesn't Donghyuck have a TV in his room? We could watch a movie!"

Renjun smiled as all his awkwardness and anxiety flushed away, Jaemin always thought of something to do. "Yeah, let's hope that there aren't any couples making out in there though."

Jaemin scrunched his nose in disgust. "Hopefully."

The two boys then walked towards Donghyuck's room. Thankfully, there were no couples making out (or worse) in the redhead's room and they didn't have to have their innocent virgin eyes scarred.

Renjun then got Donghyuck's pillows and blankets off his bed and placed them in front of it, making some sort of makeshift couch as Jaemin picked a movie.

"What are we watching?" Renjun asked the sun-blonde.

"I guess we're going to watch The Fault In Our Stars because it's basically the only movie Donghyuck has and I have no idea on how to get to Netflix on his TV so I guess we have no choice." Jaemin said, scratching his head.

"It's alright." Renjun reassured the younger with a smile and Jaemin returned his smile before putting the movie into the TV. He then took a seat next to Renjun on the blanket. Renjun also had a separate blanket to cover himself so he wouldn't get cold and asked if Jaemin wanted to share it, but Jaemin declined. The sun-blonde declared he was not cold at all.

In the middle of the two hour film, Renjun had fallen asleep on Jaemin's shoulder. Jaemin smiled in adoration at the peaceful male. Jaemin cooed at Renjun's adorable features as he was sleeping. Renjun's lips were so pink and kissable, his hair looked soft and silky as some of it fell over his peacefully closed eyes and his mouth cutely parted slightly to breathe in and out. It was in that moment when Jaemin finally realized that Renjun wasn't just a "longtime crush", Jaemin loved Renjun, a lot.

Jaemin stopped the film so that it wouldn't wake up the sleeping brunette, but that was to no avail as Donghyuck busted through the door, waking up Renjun and scaring him shit less. "Come on, people! The countdown is starting!"

Renjun then woke up completely and almost immediately got up and dragged Jaemin down the stairs when Donghyuck left the room. As they entered the main room the party was in, everyone was counting down from thirty. Renjun smiled widely and dragged Jaemin closer to the flat screen TV that displayed the countdown. The two then started to count down as well.

"10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1! Happy New Year!" Everyone cheered as confetti cannons (provided by Chenle) blast colorful confetti everywhere.

Renjun's eyes sparkled as he put out his hands in front of him so confetti could fall into them. His admiration for the small colorful paper was then cut short as Jaemin tackled him into a hug, both boys smiling and laughing brightly.

It was New Years, meaning that 2018 was to be left behind in the past and the new beginnings of 2019 were soon to come. Renjun was both excited, thrilled, and anxious about what the new year would bring him.
