Jaemin looked around the lake for Renjun, panting heavily as he ran the whole way there. He spotted Renjun crouching down next to the lake, dazed as he lightly ran his fingers through the water in front of him.
Jaemin's heart hurt seeing Renjun look so lost and sad. Jaemin wanted to see Renjun's smile more than anything, not his sad frown. He needed to make up with him as soon as possible.
So, Jaemin carefully walked up to the older, not wanting to scare him. "Renjun...?"
Renjun's head immediately snapped up to look at him. His eyes then started to water as he saw Jaemin. "Jaemin...why are you here?"
His voice sounded so small, it made Jaemin's heart ache. "Renjun...I'm here to apologize. I was so stupid to end our friendship. I know I hurt you and I hate myself for hurting you, so I'm sorry. I'm sorry I made you cry, I'm sorry I'm so stupid, and I'm sorry-"
"Jaemin, it's okay..." Renjun said, smiling as he wiped away some stray tears that had fallen down his face. "I'm just happy that you didn't really mean it."
Jaemin smiled back at Renjun. That was another thing he liked about Renjun- how understanding he was.
"But..." Renjun started, "I want to go know why. Why did you suddenly end our friendship like that?"
"I-" Jaemin stuttered. "I did it because well..."
"You did it because...?" Renjun urged.
"Please don't hate me." Jaemin quickly said, catching Renjun off guard.
"I cried for hours just because you ended our friendship, why on earth would you think I'd hate you?" Renjun said, rolling his eyes.
Jaemin gulped. "I don't know..."
"So?" Renjun asked patting the spot next him, telling Jaemin silently that he could sit next to him. "Why did you?"
Jaemin sat next to Renjun as his heart beat rapidly. He took a deep breath to calm himself and he was ready.
