Jenna Joseph

Today was the day I could find out the gender of my baby. I called Tyler's sister Maddy and she was going to meet us at the OBGYN so she could find out the gender and start planning my gender reveal which was going to be this weekend. I let Ellie stay home from school today since her winter break just started and she really wanted to go see the ultrasound.

We all got ready for the day and started to get ready to leave.

"I'm so excited!" Ellie yelled as she danced around the living room.

"I am too!" Tyler smiled and he bent down and picked up Ellie. I smiled as I watched Ellie giggle.

"Alright, lets get going!" I announce. We head out of the house and drove to the OBGYN.

When we arrived, Maddy was in the lobby waiting. Ellie ran over to her to give her a hug. Tyler and I walk over and Maddy greets both of us. I go to check myself in and then we all sit together in the waiting room.

"Are you excited?" Maddy asked.

"I should be asking you that!" I reply.

"I am very excited! I already have an idea for your gender reveal! I just need to know the gender and I'll be able to put it all together! I already got all the supplies too!"

"Wow! You really are excited!" I laugh.

"Well, yeah! I can't wait! I'm thinking we can have the reveal party this weekend!"

"That would work good. The sooner the better! I really want to know so I can start thinking of names."

"Jenna Joseph?" A nurse called taking us out of our conversation. I stand up and smile at Tyler. We all go back into the room and I lay down on the cot.

"How is everything today, Jenna?" The nurse asked.

"Very good!" I reply.

"Wonderful! So, today you can find out the gender of your baby. Would you like to know or be surprised?"

"Well, my sister in law here is planning a gender reveal so can you give her an envelope with the gender in it?"

"Of course! Lets just get started then!"

The nurse squirts the cool jelly onto my stomach and starts to move the wand around. I watch the monitor and I hear a heart beat.

"There we are!" The nurse says. "Healthy heart beat. Lets see if we can see the head or a foot or someth----" Then the nurse pauses and gets a confused look.

"What is it?" Tyler asks concerned.

"Um, is this your first ultrasound appointment?" She asks.

"No, we had one other one with a different nurse but the same doctor. Why?" I reply.

"Well, it looks like there are two heart beats in here."

"Wait what?" Tyler asks shocked.

"It looks you're carrying twins, Jenna!"

"What--but---at the first ultrasound they showed me the picture and I have it at home and I could only see one baby." I say.

"That's normal. A lot of times you can't see both babies until later on. This could be the cause of your extreme morning sickness."

"Wow!" I laugh. "This is absolutely crazy." I turn my head to look at Tyler who is holding my hand tight. He looks like he's in shock.

"I can't believe this." Tyler replied.

"This is a good thing!" I say.

"It's a lot to take in right now."

"I'll give you some time alone. I'll go get the ultrasound photos for you and get your doctor to come take a look again." The nurse leaves the room and Tyler leans over to give me a kiss.

"We weren't even expecting this one but now there's going to be two more." Tyler smiles.

"This is going to be so exciting!" I say. I couldn't stop smiling and laughing and I had happy tears rolling down my cheeks. Maddy comes over and gives me a hug.

"I can't believe this." Tyler says as he had a tear roll down his cheek. I smile at him and he comes over and wraps his arms around me. He pulls away and puts his hands on my growing stomach and smiles down.

"I can't wait to meet you two." Tyler whispers.

We make it back home after the appointment and I was still in shock. Jenna said she was craving burgers so I stepped out onto the back patio and started up the grill. Maddy was so excited since she was the only one who knew the genders and she was invested in her phone as she tried to find ideas for the baby shower. I couldn't stop smiling ever since we got back home. I couldn't believe that we were expecting twins. This was going to be amazing and I couldn't wait for these little babies to be born. I glance out into the living room from the kitchen and see Jenna laying on the couch watching Ellie play with her toys. If this scene makes me happy, in a few months I will be over whelmed with happiness. I'll look into the living room and see my gorgeous wife and 3 children. And hopefully by that time I'll be starting my music career all over again. I hoping to travel more and give all of my kids a wonderful life experience. This was what would get me through life, giving my children an exciting and adventurous life. I want them to see the world.
