Tyler Joseph

I dialed the number of my management. I haven't spoken to anyone from management in years. The phone rang a few times and then someone picked up.

"This is Chris." The voice said.

"Hey Chris. It's Tyler Joseph." I reply.

"Tyler? I haven't heard from you in so long! How are you doing?"

"I'm doing alright. I thought I'd give you a call to let you know that I have a few new songs that I wrote. I have one in particular that I think would be a great single but we need to meet up."

"That's great Tyler. I would love to meet up with you. I'm actually open today at noon if that works for you. I know that's in like an hour and a half so if you can't we can meet tomorrow."

"Today at noon works perfectly. I'll stop by your office."

"Wonderful. Can't wait to see you."

"Yeah, I can't wait to see you either." I hang up and go to let Jenna know. I go upstairs and she is in the kitchen cooking something that smells wonderful.

"Hey Ty! Did you call Chris?" Jenna asks.

"I did. I'm going to go to his office at noon." I smile.

"This is so great!"

"I'm kind of nervous."

"That's okay! Nerves are good! You haven't had a song out in years! This is a big step!"

"I'm nervous for when I'll have to do interviews and press things. I haven't done that alone before really."

"One step at a time. Right now you should just focus on this song and getting it finalized and released."

"You're right. I'm going to go get ready." I walk up to the bedroom and grab a sweatshirt out of the closet and a pair of black sweatpants. I put on my black baseball hat and grab my sunglasses from my dresser. I stand in front of the mirror and stare at my reflection. I close my eyes for a second and take a deep breath. I walk over to Ellie's bedroom and see she's laying on her bed with her stuffed animals.

"Hey Ellie." I say and sit on the edge of her bed.

"Hey daddy." Ellie sighs.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"You should be excited!"

"Why?"

"Did you already forget? Tonight your aunt Maddy is going to tell us the gender of your baby siblings that your mom is going to have!"

"Oh yeah." Ellie said. Normally she is so much more energetic but Jenna is right. Something is wrong with her.

"Ellie, do you feel okay?" I ask concerned.

"I'm fine!" Ellie groans.

"Sweetie, you can tell me anything okay?"

"You aren't going to love me as much."

"What are you talking about?"

"When mom has her babies you are going to love them more than you love me."

"How could you say that? I will always love you so so so much! You are my first baby! And I'm going to love all my babies the same. When the babies are born they may need some more attention but you can help out too!"

"You aren't going to forget about me?"

"Ellie! You're so silly! How could I ever forget about my little girl?" I laugh. I lean over and wrap Ellie into a hug and she giggles.

"I love you dad." Ellie smiles.

"I love you too, munchkin. Now, I have to go do a quick errand but I will be back for the gender reveal okay? I'll see you soon." I kiss the top of Ellie's head and head back downstairs. I go over to Jenna to let her know that I got Ellie to talk.

"Alright, so I'm going to head out but I'll be back for the gender reveal. I also found out why Ellie has been acting weird lately." I tell Jenna.

"What is it?" Jenna asks as she sets down her cooking utensil and looks at me.

"She thinks once the babies are born that we will forget about her and not love her as much." I explain.

"Oh my goodness. That's crazy!"

"I know. I explained to her everything and I guess I understand. She's been an only child for 6 years and has had all the attention on her. It's going to take some adjusting to have two new siblings."

"I suppose. She will figure it out though."

"Oh she will. She just needs to realize that we won't ever forget her. Now, I have to go. I'll be back soon."

"Good luck!" Jenna exclaims as I head out the door and towards my managers office.

When I walk into the office memories come flooding back. Memories of Josh and I have countless amounts of meetings and acting like fools around this place. There is only good memories really.

I walk down the hall until I hit the door with the name Chris Woltman on the door. I knock three times and wait. The door swings open and I see Chris standing there smiling.

"It's so good to see you, man." Chris smiles and pulls me into a hug.

"It's good to see you too." I smile back.

"Well, come on in! Have a seat and lets get to this."

"Alright. So I have 3 songs already written and recorded which I did at my house but I have one song that my wife and I both think would be a great comeback song." I explain as I take a seat across from Chris' desk.

"Okay. And what's the meaning behind the song?" Chris asks.

"Well, I mean, it's going to be a very personal song like all other Twenty One Pilots songs but this one is mainly about where I've been these past years. It's about everything that's been on my mind."

"Perfect. Why don't you play it and we can see how it sounds." Chris says. He sits back in his chair as I play the song. I hear my voice and the melody play through the speakers of his office and I honestly think it's great. Chris has his eyes shut as he listens and he's nodding his head along with the song.

When the song ends, Chris opens his eyes and turns toward me.

"Tyler, that was absolutely amazing. We need to get that song out ASAP." Chris exclaims. I smile.

"Seriously?" I ask.

"Of course! That song was awesome. We gotta set up some press stuff and you need to post on your social media."

"Right now?"

"I'd like if we could get this done now. I know it's moving fast but it's better than taking time and having to think about it all. Now, do you want to post on the twenty one pilots page or your own social media pages?"

"I want to do it on the band accounts. Twenty one pilots isn't done. We are still a band even if half the band isn't here."

"I think that's a great idea. Why don't we get a picture together and post that and you can announce the new song. We can get it out there next week we just gotta get some art for the single cover and then we can promote it through interviews and everything and we will be all set. Let me just call someone in to take the photo." Chris gets someone to come in and take out photo in front of his office and I begin to post the photo on all social media accounts and right after I post it I turn off my phone because I don't want to see the response from everyone quite yet.
