Ch. 27- Hypothermia

*Emily's POV*

I was up at 2am in my office trying to find more information on Marinette's home life with her father. I jumped when I heard a knock on the door.

"Who the hell got past the gates? At 2am?" I muttered to myself

I went downstairs and open the door. I only saw snow. Really ding dong ditch? I was about to close the door when something caught my eye. I looked down and my eyes went wide. Marinette was on my porch covered in a light layer of iced blood and snow. She was slightly purple and passed out cold.

"Holy shit!" I practically yelled and picked her up, she was freezing like a big block of ice and had only a bra and short shorts on.

This isn't good........

I closed the door with my foot and it slammed shut, not caring if I woke someone up. I carried Mari over to the fireplace in the living room and set her on the ground. I ran across the house and got a ton of blankets and heaters.

"Emily?" Gabriel asked

"Sorry I woke you but carry this and follow me" I said and shoved the heater into his hands

"Why? What's going on?" he asked confused

"No time just hurry!" I snapped and stumbled down the stairs with Gabriel following

We got into the living room and I placed all the blankets down next to Mari.

"Oh my god is that Marinette?" Gabriel asked

"Yes I can easily tell that she has hypothermia now help me" I rambled and lifted Mari up

Gabriel put some blankets down neatly and I placed Mari down on them. We wrapped her up in a bunch of blankets and surrounded her with heaters.

"Go get the first aid kit please" I told him and walked into the kitchen to get a bunch of warm cloths.

I walked back into the living room and placed a warm cloth on Mari. Gabriel came in with the first aid kit and I took her temperature.

"Shit, if she gets any lower then she's done" I panicked

I groaned, I had to do it.

I took her arm out of the wrap of blankets and put the warm cloth on it.

"Turn the heat up alot" I said, "I have to clean her up because she's loosing too much blood. We need it to be really hot in here"

Gabriel shot up and ran out of the room. I grabbed Mari's arm and started cleaning her cuts.

I hated to say it but I have a bad feeling that Mari's home life is really dangerous. She has to be getting abused........

Gabriel came back into the room with a pair of shorts and a tank top for me, he was already changed.

"She has tattoos?" he asked bewildered

"Yes, a lot" I said while getting changed

I finished getting changed and continued cleaning Mari's arm. I had to stitch a couple spots but I finished with that arm and did the other.

"What do you think happened?" Gabriel asked

"The only answer that I can think of is that she gets abused" I said sadly

"What? Who would be that sick to do that. I hope you're wrong"

I tensed, "Oh my god, she is getting abused" I said while looking at her stomach

"Oh my god" Gabriel said looking at her stomach. The word 'SLUT' was carved into it.........

"I need clothes for her now" I demanded, "Go get Adrien's clothes, underwear, socks, beanies, all of it"

Gabriel ran out of the room and ran to Adrien's room.

That's why she broke up with him.....well that's one of the reasons why

I was sweating my ass off, it was so hot in here but Mari was on the verge of dying and I'm NOT letting that happen.

I cleaned the carving really good since it was deep and stiched her up. I couldn't believe how she isn't dead already. She was out there for a long time with cuts everywhere on her body and she still made it here.

Gabriel came back with a bunch of clothes from Adrien's room and I kicked him out so I could change Mari. As I was changing her I realized that she looked really skinny besides all the muscle.

I wonder if she was also starved?

I finally got done with her. She was all changed and wrapped up in a bunch of blankets. I took her temperature and it was slowly returning back to normal.

Thank god

I slowly fell asleep next to Mari with Gabriel.......

"Mom?" I heard someone call me

"Hmm?"

"Why are you and dad out here and why is the house so hot?"

I shot my eyes open, "Oh umm you're awake" I said sitting up

I wondered why he wasn't asking about Mari so I looked over to my side only to do a doubletake when I saw that she was gone.

"Shit!!" I screamed and woke up Gabriel

I shot up and ran for the stairs.

A couple mintues later I was running down the stairs for the door. I got my coat on and had my gun with me. I ran out the door and down to he school hoping that she would be there.

When I got there Adrien was there as well with Alya and Nino. I forgot he takes the limo......wow I'm not awake yet.

"Where's Mari?" I asked out of breath, my lungs burning from the cold air

"She's not here yet. Why?" Alya asked

My eyes grew wide and I shot off down the street to Mari's house leaving everyone screaming my name in confusion.
