Ch. 41- Shadows

*Adrien's POV*

It's been a year since that day. No one has been the same, all of us act like we are fine but everyone knows we're not. Ladybug hasn't been around either and the people of Paris have lost faith in her- yet wonders how there are no loose akumas.

I remember the after she left, our miraculous showed up in our bedrooms. Rena and Carapace joined the team for good. We had to catch an akuma, and when we did, we didn't know what to do. We put it in a jar and I kept it in my room, and when I woke, it was gone. Plagg told me that Mari came by and took the jar. I yelled at him for not waking me up but when he told me why he didn't, it hurt.

She was a mess.

Destroyed. Bloody. With an evil glint in her eye. She was about to steal money from me along with some expensive things but she stopped and held her head in pain, leaving quickly.

I knew she was gonna get better. I just didn't know when.

It's another Monday. We all meet up at school but nothing feels the same without her.

When we went down for lunch- that's when things changed.

*BAM BAM*

We all screamed and ducked. Alarms went off and we all ran into classrooms.

The school was being shot down again.

All of Miss Bustier's class was together, shaking and crying in the corner. We didn't want to go through this again.

*Unknown's POV*

I stood on top of a building away from the school, darting towards it when those bastards entered.

I snuck in through the back of the school, pulling my mouth mask over my face. I took the knives from my jacket and spun them in my hands, the blade facing down.

I was excited yet terrified of what was happening.

I saw three men with guns in front of me so I hid in the shadows and made my way towards them. I snuck up behind them and tapped one on the shoulder.

He turned around, the other two following a bit behind. As soon as he saw me, I decked him in the face, spun, and stabbed the other two in the legs. The one that I decked held his gun up to me and pulled the trigger.

I chuckled and held up the magazine to his gun. All them looked at me in shock but then aimed their guns at me.

I ducked as they shot at me and kicked one gun so it shot the other gunman. I fought the armless man and knocked his head into the man who just shot his partner, knocking them both out.

I heard footsteps and hopped up the walls to the second floor, hearing the faint sound of police sirens in the distance.

I looked around me and saw a classroom I was familiar with, having a bunch of noise coming from inside.

I looked in the window and saw the class tied up, gagged, and in a corner. They were all grown up, shaking in fear as 5 men pointed guns at them.

I called the cops.

"Police, what's your emergency?"

"Dupont has hostages. Don't enter" I said calmly

"Who is this?"

"Don't worry about me. A class is being held by 5 men, now listen to me and don't fucking enter the building. They can't die" I said sternly and hung up
