The entire week after I went to school with my heart pounding ferociously in my chest. I was awfully nervous about facing Phillip and telling him about how I felt. Unfortunately, he didn't show up. I was dying to ask Raphael whether he knew something but held back the last second. I wasn't keen on revealing any detail about my love life, especially to Raphael.

By the end of the week I was distressed. I feared that I might have really failed. I wondered if the outcome would have been different had I only not acted so reluctantly and reserved. On the other hand, Phillip did overreacted a little, in my opinion.

Hannah attempted to convince me to participate in a Halloween party on Saturday. Without success since I was too occupied with various conjectures regarding Phillip.

Mum and dad were supposed to be home this weekend but went on their next business trip instead. I had just made dinner when it chimed.

"Trick or treat?" said a group of three girls dressed up as devils.

Shit. It was then when it struck me that we didn't stock any treat in the house because my parents forbad it.

"Hold on for a sec."

Scurrying to the kitchen, I grabbed a basket of apples.

"I'm so sorry, I've totally forgotten to buy something sweet. Will apples work? They are absolutely divine, I promise." I put on my best puppy look.

"Seriously?" said one of them. The girl on the left opened her bag nevertheless. "Two will suffice."

I smiled gratefully. She then handed me a tiny envelope. Leaning forward, she whispered: "My brother may be bad-tempered but the reason why he's acting like this is because he likes you, a lot. So give him another shot, will you."

She quickly stepped back and headed toward the exit. "Thanks for the apples, see ya!!" She waved before disappearing around the corner.

I scrutinised the enveloped sceptically. Did it belonged to the trick?

The piece of paper inside diffused a wonderful scent of lily. I unfolded it.

   Susannah,

Take a walk with me at 7 p.m. -Phil

My heart raced as I let the message sink in. Excitement crept up on me. So ... what was I supposed to do now?

The clock said 06:23. My gaze travelled to my own reflexion on the glass door leading to the living room. Well, I should probably go change into something else. The baggy pants and the oversized jumper might be the perfect outfit for home but definitely not for meeting your crush.

Hurrying up to my room, which was by the way painted in my favourite colour red, I threw on one pair of pale blue skinny jeans, and a plain black cardigan. My hairs fell loose over my shoulders.

As the clock was ticking I walked back and forth, heart pumping. I didn't have the faintest idea what Phillip was going to talk about and how  tonight was going to end. Whether disastrous or wonderful.

Eventually Phillip showed up at my doorframe. His face was stoned and he didn't say hi. Chill immediately enveloped me.

I smiled awkwardly, murmuring hi. "Let me just get my jacket really quick."

He held me back. His big hand wrapped around wrist, pulling me against him. I collided with his hard chest, and he lowered his head, meeting my lips. He kissed me hard. Heat rushed through my veins. It was like he was a starved predator, greedy to consume me.

Suddenly he released me, pushing back. "Let's get out before I lose control."

My eyes lingered on his swollen lips. I blushed.
