Over the course of the day I would make exact two trips to my locker. One in the morning, one in the afternoon. My last class had just finished as I headed to the third floor, surprised by Emily who stood by my locker.

I took a deep breath, preparing myself to something nasty.

"Hey Emily," I pressed a smile.

"Hi Susie," she threw her dark blond hairs back, "there's something I need to tell you."

Unease instantly distributed through my nerves.

Swallowing hard, she confessed ruefully: "Those misleading photos of you and Raphael were from me. I sent those to Phillip. I didn't mean any harm. It was just a stupid prank. I'm sorry."

Rage and disappointment soared within me at the same time. I'd never been an easygoing person. I didn't find pranks funny whatsoever. And she knew.

"Hope you had fun then. 'Cause I didn't. Do you mind stepping aside?" My tone comprised ice, exasperation, and hurt. We were great lab partners.

She did what I asked, retreating silently after a second apology.

Later when I told Phillip about Emily he said unimpressed: "I already heard. She came to me in the first break."

Shaking my head, I sighed: "I don't understand her intention behind all this. It's true that we've never been particularly fond of each other. Nevertheless we've got along since we are partners. I've always acted nice."

Phillip observed me intensely from the opposite site of his sofa. "Emily and I dated."

My jaw dropped. "So she did it out of jealousy?"

He shrugged, pulling me onto his lap. "Probably. I mean, I broke up with her after only two weeks."

The bugging envy suddenly changed to curiosity. Looking up from his ripped chest I was leaning on, I inquired: "Why?"

He ruffled his short hair and answered tersely: "She was noisy and hence a pain in the arse. Now, can we leave it at that? 'Cause I'd rather make out with you."

He didn't wait for an answer but captured my lips in a long and hot kiss.
