After school, Jimin's Point of View

I can finally go home after a full day of being yelled at by Hoseok, and getting lectured by teachers. But what will Jin say about my soulmate? Is he going to be homophobic too? I really hope he will be at least a little open minded. I really can't control who my soulmate is. I thought to myself as I rode the bus home.
The bus ride ended a little too soon for my liking, and I soon had to walk into my house where Jin awaited me. I tried to make my way up the stairs silently, but alas Jin saw me asked why I was trying to hide.
"Jimin, you never come in from school without saying hello, what's wrong? Is something happening in school?" Jin asked worriedly, hoping to find the source of why I was silent. "Ah, Jin it's, it's nothing. I just have a lot of homework to do today, Trigonometry is gonna kill me one day." I quickly say, hoping he would let me leave. "Jimin, I adopted you when you were four, I know you as well as you know yourself, what is wrong?" Jin pressed further.
Should I tell him I met my soulmate? Let alone that my "perfect match" is a guy? I don't want to possibly make him sad, knowing that I found mine, while he watched his die? But he wants to know..
"Jin, today I, I met my soulmate. But aren't soulmates meant to be a guy and a girl? Not two guys?" I replied, desperately hoping that my finding of that boy wouldn't make him sad about Jisoo. "Jimin, let's sit down, okay?" Jin said, pulling me to the couch. "Jimin, your soulmate is meant to be your perfect match, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or social status. They are literally made for you, they will love you regardless of something silly like a gender." Jin spoke, sounding rational and intelligent on the matter.
"But dad, I think he hates me already! I saw him today at lunch and he sprinted away from me." I exclaimed. "Wait, what did you call me?" Jin asked. "Dad.?" I replied, hoping he wouldn't scold me for calling him such. "Jimin, you called me dad! This is the first time in the fourteen years I've had you, you called me dad." Jin said, tearing up slightly. "Well, yea, you're my dad. Blood or not you've been an amazing parent. Do you not want me calling you dad?" I asked. "Jiminie I'm just shocked is all, you can call me whatever you like!" Jin quickly replied, "But why would your soulmate run away? How did you two meet and know you were mates?" He questioned.
"Well, Uh, funny story. I got punched in the nose, it started bleeding, and when the guy showed up I started seeing red. And I'd assume he saw red too because he stopped yelling at the guy who decked me and looked shocked. Then he grabbed his friend and ran." I told my story to my dad. "Well, I guess your soulmate must love to run." Dad joked, making his windshield wiper laugh. "Dad? There's a carnival in town, can we go tomorrow?" I asked, hoping we could go together. "You know what? Yea we can go, you've been cooped up in your room all summer long, you need to see the sun for once." Dad spoke, happy to get quality bonding time with his son.

Time skip to tomorrow after school, Carnival. Jimin's POV

"Dad look, there's a stuffed Chimmy plushie!" I excitedly exclaimed, pointing at the stuffed dog. "Do you want to play it Jimin?" Dad asked, getting his wallet out. "Please! Please! Please!" I repeated, exited to try the game to win the adorable Chimmy plushie. "Okay here you go Jimin." Dad spoke, handing me $5 to try the game. "You just have to throw the ball and knock down the pins!" The carnival worker exclaimed, taking my money. I threw the first ball, and missed. The second ball almost hit the worker. "I'm sorry!" I quickly apologized. The third just wasn't a strong enough toss. "Better luck next time, kid." The same worker spoke sadly.
A pair of onlookers noticed my sad face and they approached us. "Need any help?" The youthful boy asked. "If you think you can hit it hard enough then please!" I replied. The boy threw the ball with incredible strength, knocking down all six pins in one swift throw. He gets the Chimmy plushie and hands it to me.
The boy was elbowed by the other male. "Oh yea! I should probably introduce us. My name is JungKook, and this is my dad NamJoon." JungKook spoke, pointing to himself and NamJoon as he told us their names. "Well, my name is Jimin, this is my dad Jin. And also, thank you for the Chimmy plushie! He's so cute." I gushed, squeezing the dog. "Oh it's no problem, really. I saw how sad you looked after missing, so I wanted to help out." Jungkook chirped. "Hey JungKook, NamJoon, do you want to join us? We were about to go ride a few roller coasters if you're up for it." Jin asked the pair.
JungKook looked towards his dad, asking for permission with his eyes. NamJoon made a few hand motions and then JungKook lit up. "He said it was okay, but not to freak out if we suddenly heard him scream." JungKook translated the sign language for us. Oh, NamJoon must be mute then I realized internally.
After we rode a few roller coasters we decided to stop for a bit for some funnel cake and corn dogs. Why is he here? I never thought he would be at a fair. I shake myself out of my thoughts and poke dad, then point towards my soulmate. "Dad, that's him. That's my soulmate!" I said, excitement and fear joining hands in my heart and stomach at the sight of him. "Wait you mean to tell me that tough looking boy is your mate? Seriously? Awe how cute! Opposites attract I guess is still the saying!" Jin excitedly spoke, "Jimin, why don't you try to talk to him again? Maybe because you two are out of school he will talk to you?"
"Yeah, maybe he will talk to me or at least look at me now.." I spoke, getting up from my food and seat, beginning to make my way to him.
