behind the black horizon

ESME AND FINN had both been on edge when neither had received a phone call from Freya or Oscar. She had shared her concern with Elijah, who tried to reassure her that both were all right, that they were both hiding alongside the white oak, cloaked for their protection. But there was a feeling in which Esme had pitting in her stomach that something was wrong and as much as she tried to reassure herself, it was difficult to do so. She tried to clear her mind over the night, but she laid awake, staring at the ceiling of her room with the empty space beside her that would usually be preoccupied by her fiancé who had found himself and Hayley finding a problem on their road trip involving Kingmaker Land Development.

The concern in which Esme and Finn owned had grown further when Davina and Kol had entered into the compound with a video in deep need of sharing with their family left by Vincent Griffith who was missing just the same.

Esme peered over Elijah's shoulder as he held the Griffith's phone between his grasp to listen to the words in which he had of warning, addressed to Davina who knew that she was going to help her boyfriend's family as Freya and Oscar were possibly near to their deaths. "Davina, listen--I know we are not on the best of terms, but I need you to listen to me, okay? Um, we're in serious trouble." Vincent explained as his eyes was filled with panic as he moved at the jazz club where magic was void. "Now, I'm recording this here because it's...it's free from magic, and magic is our enemy. The Ancestors got me on the hook doing some pretty twisted magic and I want no part of it, but they're forcing me to help Lucien Castle. And if you don't help me, Freya and Oscar Mikaelson are gonna die. They forced me to take them both, then they had me put up a cloaking spell, so we can't be tracked. Now, Lucien's taking us out of town someplace, I don't know where...but there's a loophole." Finn's name had been uttered and it led to Elijah pausing the video and glancing up towards his brother.

Finn was struck with confusion as his attention turned to Kol and Davina hoping for an explanation. "Just how am I the loophole?" He questioned.

"Last year, when Esther first brought us back," Kol reminded. "I got put in the body of a gormless twit, but you got housed in one of the most powerful witch bodies in the city: Vincent's. And even after all this time, there's still an echo of a body-soul connection between you two." There was nothing but hate in which Kol carried towards to Finn and it was noticed by the tone in which he carried as he spoke to his brother as if he was a fool.

Esme could feel the way in which her heart hammered against her chest in deep concern of her son who hadn't been in their lives for too long, where Lucien had thought his murder would be of benefit. "...and Davina, that's where you come into play." The video had continued as everyone listened to the words of explanation in which Vincent had. "I need a powerful witch that's off the Ancestors' radar." Vincent had cut the palm of his hand, hissing in pain as he begun to fill a vial of glass with his own blood and which Davina fiddled with as she sat on the couch. "I want you to find the thread between me and Finn."
