don't it just break your heart

"OKAY, LET'S SEE what you can do." Freya had encouraged for not only her niece but for her nephew to show off their werewolf abilities their owned, strength, speed and stamina. A smile spread on Esme's lips as she stood by the side the of the Mikaelson witch while watching as the teens had hurried off, each seemingly seeing a competition between them as they sprung in their hurry, reaching the top of the scaffolding surrounding them with just a few jumps. Esme raised her brows, impressed with her son and with Hope that she had given them a gentle applaud. They were both chuffed with their speed, before each looked down, wondering how they were to reach the bottom, as Hope had found out her tactic, Isaac had pushed himself back, causing his mother's eyes to widen before her son had flipped himself to land heavily on his feet.

Hope was trying to comprehend the speed and the recklessness her brother had shown while she had pounced her way down, landing by his side as he grinned at her cheekily. "I win." His attention turned towards his mother and aunt who were deeply amazed with the skills that both of them had, that led him to waiting for their opinion. "What do you think?" He asked.

"I think I wish I had core muscles like yours." Freya answered honestly causing Esme to chuckle as she rocked on the heels of her boots.

"And that's nothing compared to what we'll be able to do once we trigger our werewolf side." Hope added and it had brought Esme's smile to fade with the mention of the supernatural side each teen held. They had been talked about it before by not only Hayley and but through Klaus, they both been given the raw explanation, the truth of what it's like.

"About that." Esme spoke up as her throat cleared. "Your mom and dad have talked to you both about turning, right?" She questioned as her brows knitted together in confusion.

"A little." Hope answered after she had taken a sip of her water. "And I-I have friends. I mean, the whole killing a human part sounds kind of rough, but--."

"Okay, did they mention the whole breaking every bone in your body part?" Esme wondered, as it seemed that it had been neglected from the teen's who face had softened with the mention of it.

"You know," Freya spoke up. "when your mom talked to me about it, when she, um, really described it, it sounded worse than almost anything I could imagine. And, honestly, it's...it's not what she wanted for you."

As Hope's brows had furrowed together in confusion, Esme had realised the words in which Freya had spoke. "Wait. Wanted?" She questioned as her head tilted to the side.

"Wants." Hope corrected. "Not what she wants for me."

"That's what I meant."

Esme's lips pursed as she had found herself turning away from the three surrounding her, stepping away from her family as she needed a second within her time to breathe, to not think about the chances of Hayley being dead and gone from the world, from the side of her daughter. Isaac frowned at his mother's hurried leave that had caused him to follow as he was drenched with worry, as he had noticed the difference with the woman who did, in some moments, feel like she was distance. "Mom?" Isaac called after the light brunette who enjoyed the breath of fresh air that surrounded her in the woods.
