Chapter 25: back to memorylane

Lunch passed by quickly and nothing interesting happened. It was now after school and I had started walking towards the exit as someone came from behind and lifted me in the air.

"Ooomph" I gasped as I was frightened. Then he put me down.

"Did I scare you?" I turn to see Zeke smiling at me.

"You can't just lift people up. That's rude and weird." I say to him and he just laughs.

"Okayyyy... hey Zeke" Chasidy says next to me.

"Wassup Chas" he replies.

"You still coming with me right?" He asks.

"Do I have a choice?" I ask him.

"Nope" he says while popping the 'p'.

"What's going on?" Chasidy asks.

"I'm gonna go to Zeke's house right now." I say to her.

"Look at you stepping out of your comfort zone. And for the first time you're not worried about your daddy." Chasidy says all excited.

"I know he's working late so he won't hunt me down and if he does. Cover up for me." I say to her and she smiles.

"You know I got you girl" she says to me as I give her the keys and she walks off to my car.

"Don't leave Conner behind Chas!" I yell at her and she flips me off.

"If Conner doesn't hurry, he'll be walking back home." I say to Zeke looking all worried.

"Well that's not our problem. That's twin problem." He says.

"I'm sure you get a lot of those." I say to him.

"Every single day of my life" he says as he unlocks the car and opens the door for me.

I wait for him to enter as I start talking to him.

"What are some things that you and Cole fight about?" I ask him and he thinks about it before he laughs and he starts driving out of the school.

"Stupid things actually. Cole and I will fight over little things like maybe if I washed the dishes or cleaned up and then he doesn't clean up after himself then we fight. I'm the clean one between Cole and I. And we fight about babysitting our little sister Emma. And many other things that you don't need to hear about" he says.

"How old is Emma?" I ask him.

"She'll be 6 in a few months." He says and I smile.

"Do you enjoy being a twin?" I ask him.

"I don't know how I'd get through life without Cole honestly. Him and I may fight 24/7 but he is my womb mate and my bestfriend. I'm used to sharing so I'd say I enjoy being a twin because I have a bestfriend I get to keep for life. And I honestly don't know how people make it through life without a twin." He explains as he smiles, which makes me smile.

"Who's the oldest between you and Cole?" I ask him as he pulls up to our neighbourhood.

"Cole is older by an hour" he says to me as my eyes widen.

"Wow, you weren't ready to come out?" I ask him and he laughs.

"My mom's birth was complicated. Cole came out first because by the time her water broke, Cole was already crowning and so he quickly came out. Whilst I wasn't even prepared to leave my mother's womb. And so my mother had to push me out but I just wouldn't come out and so eventually she got tired and they had to cut her open and take me out through the c-section." He explains as we exit the car and go around to his door and he unlocks it, waiting for me to get in first before he continues.
