Chapter 8: Additions to the family of two

3 months later.

It is now the holidays and I usually hate it when it's like this because I have nothing to do.

My dad has met a woman he really likes and they seem to be getting serious. Her name is Corletta and she has 2 kids and they are also twins. They are my age. They don't go to the same school as me though.

Today my dad and I will be going out for dinner with them at a restaurant. My dad bought me a beautiful dress. The restaurant must be fancy because the dress was expensive.

After showering I hold the dress up as I look at it properly. It has a low back that reveals the whole back and it is tight and goes straight down, hiding the feet. It is gold in colour and it sparkles and just screams expensive. My dad has really good taste.

He also bought me heels that would match my dress.

I quickly get dressed and I work on my hair. I first start by straightening it then I tie it in a stylish bun. I wear my heels and I apply make up which consists of gold eye shadow with mascara and pink lip gloss. I apply gold blush around my cheeks. My make up looks natural but classy.

My dad knocks in my room.

"Hey babe" he says to me as he enters. He is wearing navy blue pants and a navy blue blazer. Underneath he is wearing a black dress shirt with Louis Vuitton black shiny shoes. His hair is styled with gel. He really wants to impress Corletta.

"Hey dad, you're looking good" I compliment him. Now that I'm wearing heels, I'm the same height as my dad.

"I've never seen you so dressed up, you look so mature and classy, you look like an older woman and that scares me." He explains.

"Dad..." I say.

"You look beautiful baby. And everytime I look at you, I see Maddy in you everyday. You look absolutely like your mother every single day you get older." He says as he holds back his tears.

I try not to cry.

"Jeez dad, why are we having a moment, we're just going out for dinner, you're gonna make me ruin my make up." I say and he hugs me.

"I know baby, I just want you to know that whatever may happen, no one can ever replace your mom. She was my first love and I can never love another like I love her. She gave me you, a beautiful angel. No one can ever replace you as well. I love you" dad says and this time I'm in tears.

He hugs me then he wipes my eyes carefully so that I don't ruin my make up.

"Alright you ready?" He asks.

"Yeah" I reply.

We get to the restaurant and it is near the beach. The restaurant is called MOONLIGHT.

"This is where we eating?" I ask in surprise.

"Yeah, don't get used to It, c'mon" he holds my arm as we walk in the restaurant.

We get to the door and there's a lady with a table there.

"Hi , welcome to MOONLIGHT, im Destiny, reservations for?" She asks

"Donovan Hamshire" my dad says.

"Ofcoz Mr Hamshire, please follow me.

We go up the elevator as the doors open revealing the roof.
