I wandered the halls of UnderHigh, looking for the science lab since I had chemistry as my second class of the day. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it. I did find the library though and it is HUGE! I can't wait to look at the array of novels the school must have. I opened my notebook and grabbed a random colored pen. Writing down a question, I made my way through the doors of the library.
"Oh hello. Are you new here?" I looked up to see a skeleton, putting down a book. 'Wow, there are a lot of skeletons here.' I nodded and turned my notebook towards him. It read, 'This school is really big and I got lost. Could you help me find the science lab?'
"Of course." The tardy bell rang and I sighed. The skeleton placed a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry about it. Dr. Gaster will understand. Besides I can write you a pass."
I smiled up at him and he got out a pad of white passes. "What's your name?" I wrote down my name for him and showed him my notebook. "Ah, so you're mute?" I nodded in response and wrote down an add-on.
'I like to sing so that's the only time that I vocalize words. I know sign language and morse code to communicate with others.' The skeleton nodded and handed me the pass.
"My name is Goth. I'm the librarian here. As for the sign language, I know for a fact that those who are classified as 'nerd' here will be able to understand you. You're not the only mute human in the school." I nodded and pointed at the door. "Ah, yes. We should go now."
Goth led me through the labyrinthine halls and soon we stopped in front of the door to the science lab. "Come to the library between classes and I'll show you the way, alright?"
I smiled and nodded at Goth. He knocked on the door and a skeleton like monster with a crack going above his right eye socket and a crack going underneath his left. He was dressed in a white lab coat that had different colored pens protruding from his breast pocket. "Ah, what brings you here Goth?"
Goth waved his hand towards me. "Your newest student got lost. My father should really remember to pass out the maps as well as the schedules."
Dr. Gaster nodded. "That is true. Geno usually forgets these things." He looked at me and opened the door wider. "Welcome to my class. And your name is?"
I handed Dr. Gaster my pass. "Ah, Cora Hadley. A beautiful name that suits you well. I assume you are mute or shy?"
I held up my first finger, telling him it was the first reason and he nodded his head. I smiled at Goth once more and stepped inside for class. "You can sit next to Frisk and Alphys. We'll be working on balancing chemical equations in groups of three today. Frisk, Alphys could you please raise your hands."
I looked across the classroom and noticed the fish girl and cat from earlier sitting behind the pair of raised hands. It looked like there was supposed to be someone else there too but, I paid it no mind. I made my way to the open seat next to the pair. Looking at them, I realized that one was the yellow dinosaur girl from this morning and the boy sitting next to her looked familiar. The dinosaur was wearing a light green turtleneck sweater with an anime like cat on the neck and a white skirt that went down to her knees. The boy had messy brown hair and was wearing a blue and purple sweater underneath a denim vest and jeans.
"H-Hello. M-My name i-is Alphys a-and this is Frisk." The dinosaur introduced. I smiled at the two and waved my hand, Frisk doing the same. I decided to communicate with sign language.
'How is your friend?' I signed to Alphys. Alphys looked down at the stack of papers being passed around. She took one and passed it to me. I took one and passed it back.
"F-Fresh w-will be a-alright. W-We've all b-been through w-worse." I raised an eyebrow and Frisk signed to me.
'We get bullied for being nerds.' I nodded and glanced behind us. The cat and fish were struggling to do the work. I breezed through the assignment and turned towards Alphys.
