PaperJam's Point of view
Everyone broke into their social groups and started doing their own things. The nerds started knocking out homework, the librarian and Pallete put away books that were left out and BP and I lounged around in the reading areas. Looking around at everyone, I realized that we were missing the one person that we all grew to care about, despite knowing the girl for less than a day. I got up and walked over to the group of nerds. I noticed that they flinched when I held my hand out and I felt kinda bad.
"Do any of you know where Cora went?" I pulled up a chair from another table and straddled the back of it.
"Why do you care about her? You're a jock and she's made it clear that she wants to be with us nerds." The skeleton that spoke glared at me. He was wearing a blue plaid shirt, jean overalls with one strap hanging down, shaded glasses over his pinprick and upside down heart pupil and a blue, orange, green and yellow baseball cap.
"Oh, you're the kid I threw this morning." I checked to make sure BP wasn't paying attention. Thankfully, Pallete was talking to him. I turned back to the group of nerds. "I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry about everything that's happened to you all because of me."
The skeleton scoffed. "You're sorry? That's all you think you have to say to gain our forgiveness, isn't it?" I was speechless but he kept going. "You have no idea how your actions affect us every day. How we have to watch not only our backs but the backs of others too." He got up and grabbed my shirt, pulling my face close to him. "You have absolutely no idea the damage you and your friends have caused." He pushed me back and I fell off of the chair.
"Well then, why don't you tell me about it?" I smirked at the skeleton. This kid was brave, that's for damn sure. He pointed to the yellow dinosaur girl that was with him this morning.
"You haven't had to comfort Alphys while she was crying from the beatings. Do you know how it feels to be beaten by the person your heart chose as 'the one?'" He then pointed to a small skeleton with a large skull. "Papyrus is made fun of for being homosexual. His bones get broken by the jocks in the locker room because of it. You haven't had to help patch up those breaks but you sure as hell were quick to break them."
"F-Fresh. M-Maybe y-y-you should s-s-stop..." Alphys stuttered out.
Papyrus held up his hands. "I agree with Al. You should stop before things get worse for us."
"No! I'm tired of this bastard thinking that he can push us around all the time!" The skeleton yelled. I guess his name was Fresh. He turned to me and pointed at a large blue bunny monster. "Nicecream guy gets swirlies after lunch every day because he sells his frozen treat with Sans and Grillby. He was even dyed bright green by your friend over there because he's nice to all of those around him."
Speaking of hearts, the one that acted as a pupil for Fresh started glowing purple. From what I could tell, he was packing some serious magic behind that eye. Fresh pointed to the human in the group. "Frisk gets bullied for being mute, for being the adopted son of Toriel, for being human in a school full of monsters and for being a pacifist! Key aspects of his personality! But you don't care, do you?"
I got up off of the ground and looked over at the group of nerds that I've bullied since I became the star player of the basketball team. To be honest, I was at a loss for words. I've done so much to them and Fresh was right to think that I'm a terrible person. They all have that right. Fresh's took deep breaths, almost like he was trying to calm himself down. I took a step toward him, his friends flinching. I rushed in front of him and before I could even comprehend what I was doing, I engulfed the little skeleton in a warm hug. I heard the collection of gasps and felt Fresh squirm.
"What are you doing? Let go of me!" He squirmed more and I leaned down so my lips were next to his ear.
"When I say that I'm sorry, I mean it Fresh. I don't like hurting you guys and I never did." I whispered to him. I released him from the hug and took a step back. Fresh's face was flushed with a light blue hue. I chuckled and looked at the nerds.
"I want to be friends with Cora and all of you. Though, it seems that because of the social hierarchy we cannot." They all looked down with disappointment in their eyes.
"Those are some big words. You sure you know what they mean?" Fresh teased. I chuckled, smirking at him.
"Maybe we could meet here often. Hangout, you know?" Everyone's head snapped up. Their expressions were amazing. There was so much happiness. I felt a paw clap me on the back.
"You find her man?" Burgerpants question me and I facepalmed.
"No, I forgot."
"Dude, this library is huge. How are we gonna find her?" Frisk started chuckling and signed something.
"Y-You're r-r-right, F-Frisk! S-She w-w-would b-be there!" Alphys stuttered out, getting up.
"What did he say?" BP whispered to me and I shrugged.
"He said that Cora told him that she liked fantasy books." Nicecream Guy got up and started following Alphys and Frisk. BP and I followed them. I wandered the shelves of books curiously, looking for the human girl in a white dress. I turned a corner and saw Cora standing there, lost in thought. I reached out for her but stopped when I heard her voice.
"I hope that you both are happy, wherever you ended up..." It was quiet but her voice sounded like that of an angel. I didn't know who she was talking about but I guessed it was someone close to her. I watched as her shoulders slumped from the burdens she carried all by herself. Gently, I placed a hand on her shoulder and turned her around. Her normally bright blue eyes had faded into a dull grey color and her sadness took the form of tears. I reached out and wiped the tears that spilled down her cheeks.
"Whatever's got you down, you've got your friends to rely on. We won't think any different of you." She shook her head, her tears falling more. It was clear that she wouldn't talk normally again for a while and I didn't mind that. All that mattered to me was her wellbeing. I pulled her into a hug and let her cry. I don't know how long we stood there for but we both jumped when the bell rang, dismissing us for our next class.
"Where do you go from here?" She handed me her schedule as we walked to the front of the library. Frisk walked up to her and they started signing back and forth. I wish I could understand them. I handed Cora her schedule as she gathered her stuff and walked off with Frisk.
"You've known her for less than a day and you've already fallen for her, huh?" The librarian asked me.
"W-What!? W-What would make you say that!?" I felt my cheekbones grow warm. The librarian laughed. Wait, what his name again? Goth or something?
"Just a wild guess." He looked at the door. "I don't know what it is about her but that girl is very special if she was able to bring the top of the social hierarchy and the bottom of the social hierarchy together peacefully. There was only one incident throughout the whole hour and that was instigated by Fresh. I think that's a new record."
"It probably is. Though, that little guy sure has a mouth on him." I smirked at Goth as I shouldered my bag. "I could get used to that." I turned away and headed towards the door.
"PaperJam." I turned to look at Goth.
"Yeah?"
"Don't hurt that girl. She's different for a reason and that's something about her that is beautiful." I chuckled.
"It seems I'm not the only one that's interested in her," I smirked at him and his face flushed a dark purple color.
"I'm sure that all of the boys that rushed to her side has some interest or another in her."
"I'll keep in mind that I have competition." I did a two finger salute and left the library, heading to my next class.
