Cora's Point of View

I could tell my aunt was trying hard to keep herself composed. This must be horrible for her. Truth be told, I'm scared to leave her but I'm also excited. This is a new adventure for me, and I guess PaperJam too. My aunt told me that she would tell anyone who asks about me that I had to fly back home for my parent's funeral. I grabbed my guitar out of my room and looked at it. I hadn't lived here long but it feels like home. I just know I'm going to miss it.

"You ready, Coraline?" Dad knocked opened my door.

"I guess. It just feels so weird. I just found a home here and now I have to leave again."

"I understand what you feel, princess, but you know it'll be alright."

"Princess? You've never called me that before." I turned to look at him and he had a medium sized box in his hands. He handed it to me and I hesitantly removed the cover. I was instantly enchanted by the contents. There was a gold wired circlet with glittering diamond stars delicately woven throughout the design. The middle dipped down into a V shape and a crescent moon charm rested at the point. Etched into the moon was the pattern of a dove feather and highlighted with small, white jewels.

"Dream and I created this for you. Moonlight and Incubux pitched in too."

"Really?" I looked up from the beautiful piece of jewelry in front of me. "I thought they didn't like me."

"On the contrary, they just don't know how to approach you. They may be my children too but they feel a bit inferior to the biological child, you know?" I nodded in response. "They wanted to let you know that they want you to see them as family, no matter if they're adopted or not. Just like Dream and I, they see you as the family princess."

I could feel my cheeks stretch into a smile. Before I knew it, I was hugging my dad. "I love it. Thank you," I mumbled into his chest. He ran his phalanges through my curly, black hair. It was nice, this I could not deny.

"Come on, princess. It's time for you to go." Dad placed a hand on my shoulder and tilted my chin up. "Let's knock this new universe out with your beauty." I laughed softly, nodding. Truth be told, now I didn't want to go but I have to. Dad placed the circlet atop my head and lead me into the living room. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me. I guess I looked a bit strange with my guitar strapped to my back and a moon charm resting on my forehead.

"I'm ready," my voice broke through the silence. "The sooner we leave the better right?"

It seems that broke everyone out of their trance. Aunt Raven and Uncle Dream hugged me once more, Ink opened up a portal to Dancetale and dad was talked to PJ.

"Ah, I forgot to mention. The circlet will act as your potion from now on. It will hold your human disguise for as long as you wear it. It would be best if you have it on all of the time." I nodded with a small smile. I have control over what form I'm in now.

"Let's go. We have a lot of explaining ahead of us," Blueberry jumped through the portal as he said this.

"Let's go, Cora," PJ held his hand out to me but I didn't take it, even if I wanted to. I waved at my family and hopped through the portal. Music filled the air and I could feel my smile grow. PJ and I followed Ink and Blue throughout the village.

"This is what the Underground looks like," I heard PJ mutter out the question as he looked around.

"Yup! In this AU, the fighting is what makes it unique so there's not any changes to the environments. The ruins, which we have to skip for now, Snowdin, Waterfall, Hotlands and the Capital all look the same." Ink smiled wide at his work.

"Waterfall?" I looked up at the Creator. He nodded.

"Personally, it's always my favorite place to create. To me, it's absolutely gorgeous."

"I've only seen pictures in the history books," PJ zipped up his jersey.

"Ya cold there, bud?" A new voice joined the conversation, making me jump.

"Ah, we were looking for you, Dance!" Blueberry jumped up and down with excitement.

"Hiya, Blue. Hey, Ink. S'up?" Dance waved casually. He was dressed in a blue hoodie, black sweatpants with white stripes going down the seams and black sneakers.

"We need a favor. Do you think we could head inside? It's a long story." Ink rested his hands on mine and PJ's shoulders. Dance nodded and lead us to a small two-story house at the edge of the village. After introducing ourselves to both Papyrus and Dance, Ink started explaining.

~~~~~~
"Do you think you could hide these two out while the Star Sanses deal with Nightmare and his crew," Ink asked.
"S'not a prob, Ink. You'd do the same for me. Besides, the more the merrier, right? We'd be happy to keep 'em." Dance looked at PJ and I. "You two'll need some new clothes though. So ya blend in better."
"I could paint them some. It's the least I can do." Ink drew his paintbrush out and started working his magic. Speaking of...
"Hey, Ink? I wanted to talk to you about my soul." Everyone's faces flushed. "Oh, stop it you guys. I just have a question."
"What's your question?" Ink handed PaperJam a bundle of folded clothes and new shoes. PJ quickly left to change, his cheekbones a shade of bright magenta.
"I was hoping if you could help me figure out what soul type I have. I've only been able to summon my magick once since the last time we saw each other."
"Hm..." Ink tapped his chin. "Can you summon your soul?"
"How do I do that?"
"Close your eyes and imagine the culmination of your being outside of your body, then open your eyes again to see your soul," Blueberry shouted excitedly.
"Okay, here goes..."
