Therapy was never going to be something anyone looked forward to. But whilst I still hate going there, it's just something I can't avoid. It's part of the daily grind for me, and would continue to be the daily grind if I ever got out of this place.

Now I like to think I am a patient guy, I have absolutely no problem with dealing with people who make stupid mistakes and then correcting them on it. But I have a huge problem with people making a completely idiotic comment, and then trying to make me out to be the stupid one. It's probably the top thing you can do to earn yourself a broken nose, courtesy of Nathan McKenzie.

I always seem to get the same type of therapist. The one who is fresh out of college, barely got a degree in psychology and barely has the brain capacity to diagnose someone with depression or anxiety. They always have that really patronizing attitude as well, and half the time they hardly even respond verbally; just make the occasional noise or say "How do you feel about that?"

It was just Evan and I currently sat in the circle of brown chairs, he was nervously bouncing his leg up and down whilst I tried to figure out how many times I could chew on my gum before it dissolved.

"How long have you been in here?" I asked out of the blue and Evan's irritating knee bouncing came to a halt.

He seemed to think about it for a second, "About two months now. You?"

I winked in his direction, "Eight years, moved around a lot."

Evan's mouth fell open slightly and I turned to him innocently. "You're joking, right?"

"Not at all, buddy."

Before he could reply, some people came walking through the door and filled up the empty seats. Shortly after, the guy I presumed to be the 'group counciller' walked in and sat at one of the chairs with his clipboard on his lap.

"Quieten down people; we've got someone new with us today." He grumbled. Almost simultaneously they all turned to me and gaped at me with wide eyes. I let a faint smile pass across my lips, and sat up in my chair so I wasn't slouching like a naughty school kid.

"Would you like to introduce yourself?"

"Hmm, giving out my personal information to a room of people I don't even know. Sounds satisfying." I replied sarcastically, but still kept a light tone to it.

There was a brief moment of silence, "I'll go first, now you can call me Davies."

"And you can call me Nathan." That earned a few giggles from the girls, nothing too enormous.

"And why are you in here, Nathan?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes, "I don't think-" I started before being cut off by one of the guys.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? Just answer the damn questions!" The guy half shouted impatiently and I felt a twitch of irritation begin to bubble to the surface.

I flicked my eyes over to him, not even moving my head, "Was anyone talking to you?"

"Alright you two put your junk away," One of the other kids shouted through his laughter.

I looked over to see Davies pinching the bridge of his nose, looking as though he was about to commit an extreme act of violence.

After a few minutes of everyone talking amongst themselves, Davies finally announced that we should go around the circle and explain why we're all here. There were a chime of groans, and I'm ninety five point six percent sure a few people almost started crying.
