You continuously adjust the shoulder strap of your carry on as you walk through the airport. Michael pulls both of your suitcases behind him. You would have been fine to pull it, for God's sake it has wheels, but Michael insisted.
It takes painfully long to get the tickets and go through customs and security. You have to take a quick break from all the walking, but the boys are patient and don't complain, even after all the times you've had to stop to pee.
So now, finally, you find seats at your gate. It takes you a moment to catch your breath, the boys all have much longer legs and you've always had to struggle to keep up. But it was easier today because of the low energy in them.
Your stomach feels like it's burning. You haven't eaten anything today, and your baby scolds you. There is nothing that you would like more right now than some toast and eggs.
"Um, Calum?" You mumble.
"Yeah?" He looks at sounds just as tired as you are.
"Could we go get something to eat?"
"Yeah yeah sure," he stands, "we're gonna make a food run, you want anything?"
"No thanks."
"No we're fine."
He and you make your way over to the nearest breakfast place.
You are seated in a small corner table, and you have a half hour before you flight starts boarding.
After ordering, Calum reaches across the table and takes your hands in his, and in a quiet voice, asks you a horrifying question.
