For those of you only reading this on Wattpad, you absolutely have to listen to Beside You while thinking about this story....like seriously I cried.

It's now the theme song of "Both of Their Eyes are Closed."

As usual, at six o'clock you leave the hospital to go have dinner. Every one says goodbye to Luke. After the boys leave the room, you lean down and kiss him on the cheek, then leave the room without looking back at him and jog to catch up with the boys.

With their new good mood, and their towering heights, they are just as impossible to keep up with as they used to be, but with the added pregnancy you struggle even more.

After a short while you give up and just walk, figuring you'd catch up to them at the elevator. When you reach the hall with the elevator you see the boys standing at the door, which open just as you get there.

"I swear to god you have magic powers," Michael teases.

I wish... you think to yourself. Today for dinner you all decided on Italian, but had to drive a little ways to get to the nearest Italian restaurant.

When you get back home, you prepare yourself to tell the boys what Dr. Wentz told you today.

They're so happy that Luke is doing better that you put it off an hour. Then just one more hour. Just one more hour. Pretty soon everyone's gotten tired. You decide to tell them tomorrow.

You make Calum wait outside the door while you change into Luke's shirt, but you don't put the shorts on because they're too hard to put on now.

"Okay," you yell out the door, and Calum walks in and shuts the door behind him. You walk over to the bathroom and turn on the light, leaving the door cracked slightly so that the bedroom isn't completely dark. You climb into bed and Calum turns off the light, carefully climbing over you to get to his side of the bed, even though every night he ends up on yours.

Guilt floods you immediately, and it almost physically hurts. Finally you give in, you have to tell someone.

"Calum?" you whisper.

"Hmm?" he hums.

"Luke's doctor told me something today...about Luke" Calum shifts onto his side to look at you. Silently signalling you to continue. "Luke's sick Calum."

In the dim light you can see his eyebrows furrow. You go on.

"He has an infection in his lungs, and they're gonna start treatment tomorrow. It's nothing incredibly serious, but he might not be able to breath without concentrated oxygen." You pause to let Calum take in the information, but he still doesn't speak.

"Also..." you continue, "He took a really bad blow to the head, and when he wakes up he might not be quite the same. He's still going to remember us and everything, but he's just not going to be the same."

You have nothing left to say, and Calum stays quiet, so you turn onto your back, and immediately, instead of in his sleep, Calum shifts over to you and sets his hand right on your stomach, not moving it.
