Part of Torrey's obligation to Central was to attend meetings before school each morning. Most members were tasked with teaching classes and enforcing the new policies, but Azami thought it best that Torrey ease himself back into his school routine.
"Just be a normal student," he'd advised. "Of course, if you witness anyone violating my rules or supporting the Resistance, I expect that you'll take appropriate action." Sounds good, thought Torrey. Maybe things won't be so different after all.
Wrong. Torrey noticed the negative energy as soon as he set foot in his first class of the day. Molecular Gastronomy. Alice was sitting in the back of the room, a new teacher having replaced her at the big desk. Her usually vibrant red eyes were staring vacantly off into the distance, and her curvaceous figure was slumping awkwardly in the chair. She looked terribly gloomy, but she perked up when she saw Torrey.
"Torrey! Over here! Come sit next to me," she said. She looked over at Ryo Kurokiba, who was sitting beside her.
"I see," he said with a monotone, getting up and moving to an adjacent table. Torrey claimed the spot, feeling slightly embarrassed for Ryo.
"So...you've been replaced?" asked Torrey.
"Uggh, don't get me started. I've been sitting back here with the commoners ever since Uncle Azami took over. No offense! Obviously you're no commoner," she said, winking. "I'm so glad you're back!"
She quickly leaned over and wrapped Torrey in a hug.
Once the bell rang, the instructor stood up and introduced herself.
"The Dean has expressed concern over the techniques that were previously being taught in this class, so I've been appointed as your new teacher. Forget those boring old textbooks, just follow my instructions and you'll be able to recreate gourmet dishes with ease!"
This prompted a lot of cheers from the students, none of whom particularly enjoyed the dense textbook that Alice had been teaching from. Torrey didn't like the idea of simply recreating dishes the "Central" way, but he understood why this new method was appealing to most of his peers.
"Today, we're going to be making Disappearing Transparent Raviolis," said the instructor. As she outlined the process and showed everyone how to handle the complex equipment, Torrey kept hearing grunts from Alice. Eventually, she snapped.
"Excuse me! Ms. New Instructor Lady! I already taught the class how to make this dish," she said, making no effort to hide her irritation.
"Alice Nakiri, was it? I'm afraid that there's a NEW way of doing things here at Totsuki. Part of my job is to correct the bad habits that you've instilled into your students. Please refrain from any more outbursts in the future," she said, smiling. Alice reached out and grabbed Torrey's arm with a vice-grip.
"I swear, I'm gonna lose it. You might have to hold me back," she whispered to Torrey. He was wincing from the pain.
"Yeah, yeah, I got you. Geez, I had no idea you were this strong."
"Torrey! That's no thing to say to a lady!"

When Torrey walked in to his second period class, he was surprised to see Erina sitting in her usual seat at the front of the room. She was absent-mindedly staring out the window, her lavender eyes glazed over.
