Chapter 24 (Bj & Benjamin)

Bj stared at his cabin. He couldn't but feel as if his life is an entire lie. First, he was told his father passed away when he was young which is why his mother moved to the Sioux tribe. Then he finds out that he is the son of Butch and Buttercup with a twin sister named Bast. Finally, he founds out he is the son of an Irish man!

Everything is a lie and he doesn't know how he feels about it.

Sure, he angry. Name one person who wouldn't be angry. He instead tries to act that everything is fine but it is really not. He is slowly losing his mind. He doesn't know what he should say to his mother. 

"Are you sure you are okay?" Sam asked. Again.

Bj closed his eyes, "Yeah. I'm okay."

"You don't look fine."

"My entire life is a lie! I don't know who I am anymore."

"You're Butch Jr. Jojo. Everything about you is wild, fun, and stupidly smart. How could you forget yourself?" 

"You didn't see it Sam. I saw it. I saw that everything I have known since last year is a lie. What should I even do? I'm not sure anymore."

Sam looked at him. She is even sure what to say. So, she rested her head on his shoulder. Bj looked down with a small smile. He knew that he is asking things she will never understand but he wants answers. He wants to know everything.

The only person who can give him the information is his mother. 

Bj and Sam stayed in their place for an hour without speaking. Bj stared at their hands as he intertwined them every now and then. Sam fell asleep on his shoulder. Bj entertained himself with tracing patterns on Sam's hand. Then Sam head fell on his lap. He looked down at her.

His face burned bright red. He quickly looked around to make sure that no one can see this. He isn't so sure what he would think if he saw this. He saw Benjamin and Russell talking as they walked back and forth. He saw Russell running back and forth making Benjamin laugh. He can hear Bentley finally being happy in months.

For a brief moment, Bj was jealous. He was jealous that Bentley is happy than him. Bj scolded himself for feeling that way. Of course he is happy that Bentley is happy but he was upset that Bj is now filled with nothing but bitterness and anger. Bj never really felt this way before. Just a few times.

Those things were simple. He was angry, upset and very bitter when Chayton turned him down. Who wouldn't be upset if their crush rejected them? The other time he gotten very bitter and angry when was Bast went up against Zoey and came back with scars randomly placed along her body. Of course he always felt angry whenever he thought about Zac picking on Sam for something she couldn't control.

Bj always gets angry whenever Sam is being bullied for being transgender. As if this is something she could control. He would always think of ways to hit the people who hurt Sam. But he would never go through with it. It would make Sam upset with him.

He saw his mother walking by. His heart banged against his chest. Bj watched his mother burped Bellona against her shoulder. It was almost as Bast knew what he wanted to do. Bj looked up to see his sister smiling down at him.

"I can watch her." Bast said.

Bj nodded, "Thanks. I'll be right back. If Sam wakes up just sing something from Lukas Graham. It always makes her fall asleep."

Bast lifted Sam off of his lap. He said thank you one more time then chased after his mom. He grabbed his mom's arm, causing her to jump. Buttercup looked back with her eyebrow raised. She smiled seeing it was only her son.
