Chapter 6 (Beatrix)

"Where's Bentley?" Beatrix asked as she looked around.

"She means Pothos," Benjamin said.

"Ah, the god Pothos seem to have to retreat back to his quarters. He mourns for his lost lover." The elder man said.

"You know about Maine?" Beatrix asked.

The elder man nodded, "We know all the god's affairs. They don't keep them private."

Beatrix nodded as she turns back and saw a large painting. It shows a beautiful city with floating objects, people walking and the twelve Olympians stood above them. Beatrix is amazed by the bright colors, the way detail and the city overall. 

She felt someone standing next to her. Beatrix gasped as she turns but let out a sigh of relief when she saw it was Python. Python is watching the city with sad eyes and a frown across his lips. Beatrix brushed back her hair as she tapped against the green grass.

"Do you know this place?" Beatrix asked.

"Who doesn't?" Python asked.

"I don't . . . that's the main reason why I asked."

"Atlantis."

"That place isn't really real . . . is it?" 

"It was," Python said with a sigh. "It's was the most beautiful sight you could ever see. Trees green as ever. The sky was always blue never grey. The clouds were fluffy and white. Everyone was always smiling, laughing never a frown in sight."

"What happened?" She asked.

Python closed his eyes, "Ethan was born in Atlantis."

"You guys are really old, by the way."

"I know."

Beatrix looked back at Python who is staring at Bartholomew now. She wonders how it feels to be with their soulmate. How it feels to be with their other half. How it feels to be in love with their other half. How it feels to have no doubts just by being with them.

She wanted to tell Camilla that she will be with her forever but will she? What happens if Camilla finds her soulmate then leave Beatrix behind? Beatrix would be crushed! She already feels her heartbreaking just by that thought.

Sure, she does have Violet as a soulmate. Beatrix does feel an attraction towards her but that's it. Beatrix barely knows her as a person. All she can do is stare at Violet with drool running down her face. She can barely hold any conversations with her as it is. 

Yet with Camilla, she can hold conversations all day. She can stare but not drool like a rabid dog. She can stand by her side and feel love. She can just be herself whenever she is around Camilla. She isn't afraid of being around Camilla. They were best friends before Beatrix fell in love with her.

Even know Beatrix is still in love with Camilla but with an attraction to Violet.

"How does it feel?" Beatrix asked.

"Excuse me?" Python replied with his eyebrow raised.

"To be with your soulmate, I mean."

"Stressful. Have you hung out with Bentley before? But it's not always stressful. Just standing by their side can calm you down. Just by seeing their smile can make you smile. I can't really explain it, to be honest." 

"How come I feel all those things with Camilla?"

"'Cause you love her."

"But she's not my soulmate."

"You truly think people go for their soulmates, Beatrix? Sometimes people go for someone who they never thought to fall for. Sometimes people never ever met their soulmates."

Beatrix sighed, "I made her run away from me."

"If you guys truly love each other then everything will work out fine."

"I still find Violet attractive, though. Doesn't make me a bad girlfriend?"

Python looked over at her, "No. Bartholomew finds every guy cute or he's just doing that to make me jealous."

"He's definitely doing that to make you jealous."

"That weasel," Python said as Bartholomew giggled. "Anyways, I don't think it makes you a bad girlfriend. What makes it worse if you act upon those feelings."

Beatrix pressed her lips together. She almost did. Beatrix remembers how close she was to Violet that one day. She saw her small lips, her big purple eyes and piercing on her bottom lip. Beatrix wanted to kiss her. She felt as if she needed to kiss her. 

Now she feels guilt swelling in her chest.

Beatrix felt someone patting on her shoulder. She looked over and saw Benjamin standing there. He gave her a smile before taking his hand off her shoulder. He only reached her shoulders. Which always confused her about calling him her older brother. Beatrix just sighed as she leaned back into the wall. Benjamin raised his eyebrow waiting for her to explain.

"I'm confused," Beatrix said.

"Oh, really? Couldn't tell." Benjamin replied.

"I don't have time for sarcasm, Benji."

"Sorry go ahead and explain to me what's wrong."

"Okay, so you know how I really like Camilla? Well . . . I almost cheated on her with Violet. But that doesn't matter because Camilla thinks I did. She also gave me a chance to tell her that I don't want Violet but a part of me wants too. Then I feel guilty about it!"

Benjamin blinked, "That's a lot."

"What am I going to do?"

"Figure out who you wanna be with more."

"Easy for you to say! You and Russell are basically hip to hip. Almost about kissed each other the moment you guys have seen each other."

"Okay," Benjamin said as jolted back some. "I'm going to blame that outburst on your confusion."

"Benji help me!" Beatrix exclaimed as she shook his shoulders.

"Gonna blame this on that stupid confusion!" Benjamin yelled as he tried to break from her grasp. "Why don't you talk to them about it. See who you really wanna be with."

"And if that doesn't work?"

"I'm trying here. Beatrix. I really am."

"You're not doing a good job."

Benjamin rolled his eyes, "I just realized I could feel more than anger just last week."

"I don't why I tried explaining this to you." 

"Then why don't you go ask Bast? After all, she is the love goddess or something like that."

"Finally! You said something that can help me." 

Beatrix lets go of his shoulders and chased after Bast. She hopes that Bast can give her the answers she needs or otherwise she will stay single forever. Which is something Beatrix doesn't want or needs.
