"Does it hurt?"
"No."
"What?! Bentley, you have a shark tooth going inside your skin!"
Bentley snorted, "It's a tattoo, Bj. Don't you think it'll look cool?"
Bj looked at Bentley. At first, he thought Bentley was slowly going normally but now he isn't so sure. He watched the blonde get a tattoo without flinching. He knew if he got a tattoo that his mother would slap him. At least, Bj knows Buttercup is his real mother but still . . . he couldn't believe that he is named after the man who isn't his father like everyone thought.
Bentley looked at his cousin. He knew everything that happened because of Bj mind shield slipped. Almost, Bentley fell but they crashed into the water. Bj complained how his hair was going to get ruined from the salt water. Bentley made the water to raise up and crashed onto Bj as a joke.
What neither boy knew that the Islanders watched wide eyes. Calling Bentley Tangaroa. From what Bentley could gather is, he is a water god. He shouldn't have used his powers but wanted to make his cousin happy. Bentley curses himself for wanting to be nice for a change.
He couldn't believe that he did so.
Bentley looked at his arm. The Islander looked very serious as they pounded the shark tooth in Bentley's arm. A green turtle for Maine and his family. From what Bentley could gather from their minds and tattoos, it means love. It perfect for them.
Bj frowned, "We should hurry and find the others."
"And we will," Bentley said. He looked over at his cousin. "How are you holding up?"
"Fine." Bj lied.
"The truth."
"I'm fine, Bentley. Just my whole life has been a lie, basically. At first, I thought my dad was dead or just a douche bag. Then I find out that I'm the son, and named after, Butch Jojo! Just when I think everything is perfect and dandy my Ma slept around with some Irish stranger. So, now I'm not the son of Butch Jojo." Bj gave a dry laugh. "The guy who I am named after."
Bentley just looked at him.
"Can you just read my mind to figure out who's my father?"
"It doesn't work like that, Bj."
"But you can find out our soulmates? How is that right at all?"
Bentley raised his eyebrows, "I dunno. I guess the whole brain doesn't work like that."
"How long have you been able to read minds?"
Bentley frowned, "Since I was born. I could hear the doctors wanting to go home, the nurses amazed that Bubbles was in their hospital room. Pretty soon, I could hear everyone voice no matter what."
"Is that why you stop eating?"
Bentley looked at him with a glare, "H-how?"
"Bartholomew saw pictures when our parents went missing. Also, I noticed you stopped eating whenever Maine died." Bj said as he frowned. "Does Aunt Bubbles know about it?"
"No. Mama was barely home. Maria knew."
"Maria?"
"My Tutor. She tried to help me out and it worked . . . for a while."
"A while?"
Bentley shrugged, "Look, I can't stop it, you know? It a disorder that will never go away. I wish it could go away."
