MARCH 1917

Gil and Henry needed to go back London to get some things settled two weeks after they came. Elisa still hadn't told Henry of her pregnancy and I had hoped she would do it before she left. She claimed that she didn't want to give Henry anything more to think about.

"Please, Elisa, do tell him." I encouraged.

"But I can't I--" Elisa studdered.

"If you don't, I will." I said. Elisa's eyes grew wide and she knew I meant what I said.

Henry was outside talking to the driver when he saw Elisa coming towards him. She turned back to see my face as I gave her a smile. Elisa embraced Henry and whispered something in his ear. His face turned bright red as Henry made a little smirked a little bit and started twirling Elisa around.

"I'm going to be father!" He yelled.

"What is going on?" Gil said as he put his hands around my waist.

"You didn't hear?" I smiled, "Elisa is having a baby."

"That'll be us one day." Gil whispered in my ear. I turned to see his face, "I'm going to miss you, Lenny."

"I promise to be there at the ceremony." I kissed his cheek.

Henry and Gil left as soon as Elisa let go of Henry. We waved good bye as I smirked at Elisa when she said, "Thank you. You were right."

I walked back in taking a deep break. "Back to work." I tell myself.

"What color is prettier, blue or purple for the wedding?" Mother asked.

"Blue." I said, "It is going to be a Christmas wedding after all."

"Well we should ask the brides shouldn't we?" Mother laughed.

The two of us turned to Olivia and Anna who were working on the invitations. They looked at us titlted their heads, "I don't mind it." Anna said, "What do you think Olivia?"

"I love it! Drew looks beautiful in blue!" She yelped. I couldn't help but smile. Once Anna and Jerry announced their engagment, Drew decided he would propose to Olivia once more. It didn't take a moment for Olivia to say yes. They had to resolve a few things, but they both worked through it.

"Why not red?" Aunt Henrietta asked, "I think it a much more festive color."

"Mother, I quite like the blue." Olivia sighed, "Let's keep it."

"Very well."

Anna and Olivia seemed to be getting along much better. And so, seeing that they decided to have their wedding at the same time. Olivia encouraged me to have my wedding. It really never occured to me to have my wedding any time in the near future. So much was going on in our home with the hosptal to even think. I even forgot to celebrate my nineteenth birthday.

"You know, Lenora, we really must let you have rest. You're so busy." Olivia said.

"Oh I'm fine." I sighed.

"Don't be silly, we haven't even celebrated your birthday."

"Oh don't worry about me really. Well, I better be going." I said getting up from my chair, "They need help upstairs."

I made my way to the grand room where most of our patients were located at. The war was still at large and I honestly didn't know how long it was going to be until it would end. Jerry was on another operation. None of us were all too happy about it. It had only been a couple months since he came back from being captured but he still wanted to go on another mission.
