When I woke up in Josh's bed the next morning I smiled to myself and looked over to see him still asleep. His mouth slightly open and face mushed into the pillow. He wasn't the most elegant in his sleep but he was still adorable. He occasionally gave a little mumble of something which made me want to laugh. I wanted to snuggle up to him but that would give him a fright and wake him up.

Instead I got up and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I slept with my mouth open and almost always woke with a dry mouth. I really hoped Josh hadn't woken during the night to see me looking ridiculous. When I tried to sneak back into the room he had moved over onto his back. He rubbed his eyes and stretched his arms out to me.

"Were you trying to sneak out on me?" he smiled sleepily.

"Why would I do that?" I asked as I slid back under the covers. "I love you, remember?"

"Yeah you do!" he chuckled and pulled me into a hug. "Love you too."

The morning light caught his chest hair so I smoothed my hand across his chest. He caught my hand in his and kissed it.

"Why are you so adorable in the morning? All sleepy and ruffled." I asked.

"I'm not adorable!" he laughed. "I'm only tired and ruffled up cos of you."

"You're normally more preened than this?" I laughed.

"Yes, now shut up and cuddle with me." he smirked.

I giggled mischievously. "As if you need to ask."

I cosied in as close as possible and kissed him.

We both woke later to the sound of Sweeney barking at the door. We both groaned.

"I'll get that." Josh grumbled as he got up to put some clothes on. "I'll get him some food and be right back."

I could hear him talking to Sweeney and smiled at their cute friendship. He returned a few minutes later with some of my clothes over his arm and my bag in his hand.

"These are yours. I'll take him for a quick walk and be right back then we can have breakfast. You don't have to get up. Stay there looking just as beautiful." he told me.

"Oh, you're a charmer!" I beamed and sat up to kiss him.

While they were out I got up and organised my things a bit. I put my furry onesie and some cosy socks and padded through to the bathroom to splash my face. Next I brushed my hair, taking time to get all the knots out. I'd blow dried it straight the day before but it still had to rebel a bit and have some waves to it. I tied it up in a messy bun.

I was making tea when they got back from the walk. Sweeney came over to say hi but Josh just stood in the doorway and laughed.

"What are you wearing?" he asked.

"This old thing?" I smirked. "Nothing much. Just a giraffe onesie!"

"You look..." he stopped and thought to himself, scratching his head. "Well, I don't know!"

"You like?" I asked.

"I... I think I love it." he said.

"It has a tail if that makes up your mind." I said, turning around to shake my bottom at him.

He snorted and clapped a hand to his forehead. "That's so you. Now sit down while I make you breakfast. I don't know what giraffes eat but what do you fancy?"

"Do you have pancakes?" I asked.

"Yeah, we can do pancakes." he nodded. As he set about the kitchen I asked how I could help. "Just stay there looking pretty. If you must do something you can cuddle that soppy dog."

"With pleasure!" I announced.

Sweeney had already plonked himself by my feet and happily let me rub his ears, tickle his belly and kiss him. He particularly liked it when I cooed encouragements to him.

"You're only with me to get to him aren't you?" Josh asked as he stepped over us to put plates on the table. "Food's ready."

"Sorry cutie, I've got to eat." I told Sweeney and kissed the top of his head.

We sat next to each other at the table and we talked. He'd gone home to LA with Sweeney to spend Christmas with his parents and brother. He wanted me to meet them next time they were in New York. My stomach twisted with anxiety at the idea. I'm sure that wouldn't be for months but it still scared me.

After we finished eating I insisted on washing the dishes so I could contribute. Of course Josh argued.

"You're the worst guest. First you bring me cookies then you do housework for me. You can't stay here again." he joked.

"So rude!" I sighed jokingly and slapped a handful of soap bubbles onto his chest.

He gasped and looked down at the wet patch on his tshirt. "That'll take ages to dry in this weather."

"Yeah, you'd better take it off." I smirked.

"Cheeky!" he laughed and wrapped his arms around my waist as I continued at the sink.

"Well, I am only human." I shrugged.

"No, you're part giraffe. Remember?" he pointed out. "That must be where you get the long neck from. I love this loose curl."

He gently twirled a few strands around his finger. It usually annoyed me when my hair wouldn't stay in a bun but today it was kind of sexy and his touch made my skin tingle.

"Of course you have freckles on the back of your neck too." he mused and started kissing them.

"You've got freckles and curls too though." I told him as I turned around in his arms to put my arms around his shoulders. "What makes mine different?"

He shrugged. "You're just different. The right kind of different. I've never seen so many freckles and in all the right places. Your cheekbones, neck, shoulders, back..."

"Basically everywhere." I nodded.

"And I saw them last night. I wouldn't mind seeing them again." he smirked.

"Well, under this onesie I'm..." I tried to sound sexy but it really didn't work, making us laugh instead. "Nothing sexy ever came after a giraffe onesie."
