On the evening of our second day in the mountains most of the cast and crew were hanging out in the hotel bar. I was chatting to Monica while we watched Josh and Tony Danza sing together at the piano.

"I can't work him out." Monica thought out loud. "There's gotta be something wrong with him. He's too good"

"Exactly." I said. "I've told him he's raising the bar too high for all the other men in the world."

She frowned and scratched her head as she thought. "Does he have six toes?" She asked. "Or maybe something wrong down there."

I snorted with laughter a little too loudly in a quiet moment, making us both giggle.

"I'm not going to... well, he's a gentleman all the time." I smirked.

"Oh! Really?" she laughed as I giggled and took a sip of my drink. "He's watching us! Behave!"

"You started it!" I laughed, giving her a playful nudge.

I looked over to see him narrow his eyes at us and then gesture that he was watching us. I shrugged and stuck my tongue out. He mouthed something I couldn't understand. I gave him a confused look to which he beckoned me over.

"I'll be right back." I told Monica and left her with my drink.

"Hey." I greeted him as I sat down next to him.

"Sing something with me." he said. "Lie across my piano and sing a show tune."

I gave a little laugh. "No no. I don't sing in public."

"But you're really good!" he whined a little.

"Compliments will not get you anywhere with this." I told him. "I need more wine before I have the confidence."

Without hesitation he put a hand in the air and raised his voice. "Can we have a large rosé for the lady please!" he called to no one in particular.

I laughed and shook my head. "Ok, I'll sing with you if you dance with me in public some time." I agreed.

"Damn it!" he laughed. "You drive a hard bargain!"

"I can give as good as I get." I told him.

"Oh, I know!" he laughed. "I'll hold up my end of the bargain if you do."

Right on cue Monica placed my glass of wine in front of us on top of the piano. I took a gulp and sighed.

"Fine. If we must then let's do this before I regret this." I told him.

"That's what she says every night." he winked at Monica, making her laugh.

"About singing!" I half gasped, half laughed. "So, velvet throated piano man, what are we singing."

"Nothing too big like Phantom or Miss Saigon." he mused.

While we talked Monica went back to her seat and gave me a thumbs up. I did some half arsed vocal warm ups.

"I know! Suddenly Seymour. I've heard you singing Little Shop Of Horrors in the shower so I know you can do it." I told me.

"Oh why not!" I shrugged.

After the song most of the room applauded, someone cheered, but I was so embarrassed that I just hid my face in Josh's neck and groaned. I did feel slightly better that he'd chosen a song with his part first so I didn't have the pressure of opening a song.

"That was amazing!" he told me as he hugged me.

"Ugh! All the anxiety!" I groaned.

"We'll dance together tomorrow night, or whenever you want." I told me. "And at Amy's wedding. I'll dance the night away with the most beautiful bridesmaid."
