~~~~~~~~~~Mitch's POV~~~~~~~~~~
I quickly shut the door and walked away. I felt like I was about to explode. My heart was beating at a hundred miles per hour and I was shaking really bad. I decided to run. I didn't care where. I just needed to get away. Gods! What came over me! Why did I feel the sudden need to share my life story with complete strangers? I continued to curse myself as I ran. It was around mid-day when I started. I had forgotten to hide my ears, tail, and eyes, but I didn't really care. When I finally stopped to catch my breath, I could tell that I actually felt better now that someone knew my secret. I smiled to myself slightly and headed back the way I came. Soon, the sky started to cry. I was soaked all the way through when I got back. It was also really late. I knocked on the door.
"You're finally back," Alex answered the door. He crossed his arms and blocked the entrance.
"Yeah, I had to clear my mind," I responded. "Can I come in?"
"I guess, but you have to answer some of my questions after you change." Alex grabbed my wrist and dragged me to his room. He pushed me onto the bed and went into his closet. He came out with a white sweatshirt and a pair of plaid pajama pants. "Go change. I'll wait here." I quickly walked to the bathroom and changed.
"Your clothes are so big on me," I complained. "Why couldn't I just wear my own clothes?"
"Because I didn't want to go through the trouble of finding your room," Alex responded. I sat next to him on his bed. "Why did you run out like that?"
"I just needed some air," I said. I actually just couldn't sit there anymore. I felt a need to get away, and so I ran away like usual.
Alex rolled his eyes but moved on. "Which of the gods do you pray to? I look up to Father Sun."
"I, umm..." I didn't normally talk about the ones I prayed to. I didn't even really view it as prayer. I decided not to answer. That was the worst thing I could have done. Alex was on top of me in an instant.
"I suggest answering my questions," Alex said. "I'm really tired and confused right now and I don't want any of that cryptic bull shit that you usually pull. now answer my question."
I looked up into his sapphire eyes. "I, uh, don't really consider it prayer, but I talk with all of the gods and goddesses," I said.
Alex didn't get off me. "Do you love your parents?"
What the hell kind of a question was that? "Of course I love my parents! It's the spirits that did this to them!"
Alex smirked down at me. "That's what I hoped to hear. 'That's what the spirits did to them.' Now you're starting to make some sense." He put an emphasis on the word spirit. "Now no more of that bad talking yourself. Only Me, Nik, or Derek can do that." Alex collapsed on top of me and went almost immediately to sleep. I was able to wriggle away from him and go downstairs. Luna was asleep on the couch, probably because she was waiting for me to come back.
"Luna..." I said shaking her, "Luna, wake up. It's me." I watched as my sister slowly woke up. Her eyes were slightly red as they latched onto me.
"Mitch? Why did you leave? I could never hate you! You're my brother and I love you." Luna rambled. She cuddled into my chest like she used to when we were kids.
"Sorry, kiddo. I had to work through a few things on my own. I want you to help me get our parents back." I told her.
She looked up at me. "Really? You want to do it together?" Her eyes shone with hope.
I smiled. "Yeah. I was originally just going to tell you and you alone about what happened, but I just couldn't stop the words from falling out of my mouth."
