~~~~~~~~~~Mitch's POV~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up to find Alex latched onto my right arm. I gently pried him off and went to the bathroom. I took out the contacts that I had in and put them away. I threw water on my face to wake me up and then exited the bathroom.
"Your eyes are very captivating," Alex stated from my bed. I rolled my eyes and left the room. It was now 8 am and no one else was awake but Alex and me. "Did I say something wrong?" Alex asked coming up behind me.
"No. I just don't care for compliments." And that was true. Luna was the only one who ever complimented me. Just as I thought about her, my phone started to ring. I quickly answered. "What's up?"
"Can I come over?" Luna asked.
Confused, I said, "Yeah sure. But why right now?"
"I'll tell you in a second." She hung up and then there was a knock on the door. I went over and answered it to find Luna standing there holding an ancient looking book. "Can you read this to me?" She asked. I took the book from her as she came in. I closed the door and took a seat on the couch. Luna sat on one side of me and Alex sat on the other holding a bowl of cereal.
"Why do you want me to read this. It's just folklore of the gods and goddesses." I asked her.
"I want you to read it because I can't. So will you?" She asked.
I shrugged. "Why not. I have nothing better to do."
"Why can't you read it?" Alex asked.
"Because it's in Ancient Elemental. I can speak it fluently, but I can't read it." Luna responded.
Alex's eyes widened. "But that's a dead language. How can you speak it?"
"I'm not exactly sure, but Brother and I are the only ones who can speak it, and Brother is the only one who can read it," Luna said.
"Enough questions. To start off, the title is 'How They Came to Be.'" I opened the book to the first page. There were symbols and pictures taking up the entire page. They may look like gibberish to everyone else, but to me, it looked like it was written in perfect English.
" Goddess Moon
The first daughter of the Earth and Sun lived thousands of years wandering the face of the newly created planet. She called herself Moon. Creatures that called themselves Humans and Werewolves roamed the planet alongside her. They lived in separate clans living, learning. and teaching. Moon felt bad for the mortals because year after year more and more of them died from famine, disease, and hunting accidents. She went to her Mother, Earth, and pleaded with her to help the dying mortals. Refusing, Mother Earth declared that if the mortals couldn't help themselves, they deserved to die. Moon left her mother and went to ask her father for help. Sadly, Father Sun refused as well. Moon blamed her parents' lack of interest in helping the mortals on her mother's pregnancy. Moon decided to take matters into her own hands. Using her powers of healing and protection, she blessed the lands with plentiful harvests and blessed the people with the powers to cast spells of healing and spells to protect their friends and loved ones. But sadly, all of her hard work took massive amounts of energy. She couldn't sustain her body on the planet's surface with the amounts of energy she used. To save herself from dying, She retreated into the sky and transformed into a massive ball of white light energy. Over time that ball of energy hardened to form a cocoon around the Goddess. Mortals on the planet's surface thanked the Goddess for all of her help. To them, she became known as the Goddess of the Harvest. The mortals also referred to her as Goddess Moon. "
