Lay All Your Burdens Down And Come

What is holding me back?

Are fears, doubts, physical weakness my excuses for not obeying God to the fullest?

Are my personal plans for what I want to do with my life getting in the way of the plans that God has set in place for me to accomplish?

I think it's time for me to take a close look at Hebrews 12:1.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us."

I am surrounded by people who have already won the battles that I am facing right now. People who have faced the uncertainty of which way to go. People who faced the desire to be in a relationship, but wanted to wait until the right one came along. People who wanted to serve God with all their guts while still being able to show God's unconditional love, not judgement and anger.

Because so many have succeeded, the path has been worn in the ground and it is easy to see.

Now is the time for me to strip off every thing, every sin, every stronghold that trips me up & keeps from running the race that God has set before me.

This race is not a 100 meter sprint, or even a mile jog. It's not even a marathon, lasting 26.2 miles. It's a lifetime triathlon. There are always different obstacles that we face, and each one seems harder than the last. We build endurance in prayer and reading the Bible, and by not quitting when the going gets tough but pushing through the pain to hit our second wind.
