Chapter 5

Writers POV

"Thank you so much for watching him!" Olivia said to Fin as she handed Noah to him. "No problem Liv, but why are you going to the doctor? Is something wrong?" He asked rather consirned. "Nono, I just have to check on something. Probably nothing tho.. I'll explain it all when I'm back!" She said before kissing Noah and leaving.

At the doctor she didn't have to wait for long.

"So Ms. Benson what brings you here today?" Doctor Jane Stewart asked.

"Well it's probably nothing, but I saw it yesterday, and I just wanted to go and check it out. You see, I noticed last night a small bump under my skin, tight next to my breast.. I might be stupid to even come here just because a small bump, but I'd feel better when I'm sure." Olivia explained.

"Well, it's good that you came to check it. Can I see it?" Doctor Stewart asked.

Olivia took her shirt half off and put her arm over her head so the doctor could see it properly.

"Ohh, that's definately something we need to check on. I hope I won't freak you out, but we have to take a biopsi of the bump, and then a mammography of your breasts to be sure. How would you feel about that?" Dr. Stewart asked.

Olivia was a bit nervous when she nodded. "Offcourse! Uhmm.. Do you think it is cancer?" "It's too early to say. But it might be.." The doctor said.

"Do you want to take the mammography today? We have a free time in half an hour. In the meantime I can take the biopsi and send it to the lab?" Dr. Stewart suggested. "Yeah that would be great. I just have to text my friend, he's watching my son for me." Olivia smiled.

{'Hi Fin. Can you watch him for ca. 1-2 more hours? Took a little longer than I expected.'}

{'sure thing. Is everything ok?'}

{'don't worry. I'll explain later'}

The doctor took the biopsi of the bump, and sent it to the lab. Olivia then got her mammography. "We'll get the results later today. We put a rush on it. You can go home now, and we'll call you as soon as we know anything!" Dr. Stewart explained. "Thank you doctor."

*Fin's place*

"Hey buddy, I think mom's here." Fin said when he heard someone open the front door. A sec later Olivia came in. "Hi boys. What are you doing?" Olivia said smiling. "Not so much. Playing and stuff." Fin laughed.

"Mom..ma. Maaama.. Mama" noah giggled. Olivia got wide eyes and a big smile on her face as her heart melted. "That's hus first real words!" She squeeled and picked Noah up and snuggled him. "That's so cute!" Fin said smiling at the two of them.

"Go sit down, I made dinner."

"Fin you really didn't have too!" Olivia quickly said. "I know, but I wanted too. You like steak?" "You kidding?! I love it!!" "Then go sit down! I'll find something for Noah aswell."

"Uhh.. I don't think that'll be necassary." Olivia said looking down at her son, who was now sleeping in her arms. Fin smiled and ked them to his bedroom, where Olivia put Noah in Fins bed, laying some pillows along the side so he wouldn't fall down on the floor.

They went back into the kitchen and Fin put two steaks on two plates and put them on the table. "Dinner is served." He said laughing.

"Mmmm looks great!" Liv smiled.

"So, what's going on with the doctors appointment?" Fin asked after a few minutes of chatting.

"Oh.." Olivia took a deep breath. "Well, last night after the wedding, I got home and noticed this little bump right next to my breast... It was like hard to touch, and I got a bit scared. I immediatly thought of cancer.. I went to the doctors, and she took a biopsi of it, and I got a mammography taken. They'll call me later with the results. I should get them today, since they put a rush on it... I'm sure it's nothing tho." She ended, trying to sound reassuring. Fin was pretty shocked, but nodded. "I'm sure you'll be fine!"

They ate the rest of their meal just chitchatting.

When Noah didn't wake up, they put on "How I Met Your Mother."

They sat on the couch and watched a few episodes before Olivia's phone rang.

"Benson." She answered immediatly.

"Hi miss Benson, it's Dr. Stewart."

"Anything new?"

"We got the test results back.." She hesitated.

"And??"

"And the results showed that the knot next to you breast is cancer.. Unfortunately it's not the kind of cancer that's easy to get rid of.. It's quite mean... The mammography showed two more knots in your left breast.. I'm really sorry, but you need to be hospitilized first thing tomorrow, and we'll start on kemo."

Olivia was speachless. "Uhm, yeah sure.. I'll come tomorrow morning."

"I'm really sorry miss Benson."

Olivia ended the call and looked at Fin.

"I.. I have cancer.." She said while tears started rolling down her
