Author's POV

Olivia just kept watching through the window. She was in shock, how could Kathleen be dead?!

Kathy was crying her eyes out, but Elliot wasn't. He was probably in shock too.

The doctors gave them a moment in Kathleens room so they could really say goodbye to her.

Kathy was sitting on the chair, holding Kathleens hand and resting her head down on the bedside while crying.

Elliot was just staring at the body of his daughter with an empty, grieving look in his eyes.

After a while the doctor came back. Before he went into the room he stopped to talk to Olivia.

"Hello, may I ask why you're standing here? Are you family too?"

"Uhm, I'm Elliots girlfriend." Olivia explained.

"Oh okay. So they are divorced?" The doctor asked politely. Olivia just nodded.

The doctor went into the room and explained too Kathy and Elliot that they had to leave. There were officers waiting in the waitingroom. They had to talk to them about the stabbing.

Kathy and Elliot went to the waitingroom, and from there they were taken to the station so they could talk in privacy with the officers.

Olivia followed in her car and waited outside the policestation.

Kathy and Elliot were not put in different rooms since they weren't suspects. They already had the stabber in custody, they just had to talk to Kathleens parents.

"So, we have the killer in custody. It was a drugaddict who needed money, and he has confessed on stabbing your daughter. He saw her wearing an expensive necklace and thought she would have cash on her.."

They weren't at the station for long. They left together, Elliot walked towards Olivia's car and Kathy was waiting on Maureen to come and pick her up.

But Kathy was furious at Elliot, and before he reached Olivia's car, Kathy grabbed his arm so he turned around.

She slapped him really hard across his face.

"What the hell Kathy?! What was that for?!"

"It's your fault Elliot! Yours and Olivia's!!!"

"What are you talking about?!!"

"She texted me that she had tried to call you so you could pick her up, but you didn't pick up your phone, so she decided on taking the bus. If you weren't witg Olivia, then you would've answered your god damn phone and Kathleen would still be here!! I hate you!" She yelled at him.

Elliot tried to grab her arms and calm her down but nothing helped.

Luckily Maureen came along, and she took her mother to her car. Elliot continued to Olivia's car where she was waiting.

"She's blaming me." Elliot said while buckling the seatbelt.

"It's not your fault Elliot."

"If I had my phone I would have picked her up, and she wouldn't be waiting on the bus!"

"Elliot! There's nothing you can do to change what's happened, and Kathy has no right to blame you! Why didn't she pick her up?!"

Elliot didn't know what to answer.

"Exactly. Now you must focus on moving on. It's gonna be some hard days ahead of you El. But I'll be here right for you. We're gonna get through this together."

Little did they know that the next days would be harder on Elliot that they ever imagined!
