Chapter 21

15 years and 4 months earlier

The next hours were terrible on them all. Cragen had called the boss and everyone were off duty for the next few days. Casey, Benjamin and little Rachel Olivia were back in their room, but they could go home when they wanted to. Alex, Noah and Melinda were with them. They were all absoulutely devastated, but fought back their tears since they didn't want to upset Noah who was pretty calm.

He probably didn't fully understand, but Olivia had maken a great effort in telling Noah about death while she was hospitilized with cancer. Noah knew that his mother was together with God and Jesus in a place called Heaven, and that she wasn't gonna to come back.

Noah kept telling himself that "mommy is in my heart"' and it was helping him.

Fin, Munch, Nick and Amanda were all just sitting in the waiting room, with no idea what to do. Olivia couldn't be dead, she just couldn't!

Elliot was talking to the police in one of the hospital offices.

"So why is it you think Kathy is behind all this?" The officer asked.

"I don't think she is. I know she is! She has threatened us before. She blaned us on my daughters dead, because I didn't answer the phone when she needed a ride.."

"Why didn't you press charges for the threats?"

"Olivia wouldn't. He just thought that Kathy needed someone to blame.

But I've gotten Olivia's belongins, and her phone had recieved a text message half a minute before the crash!"

"What did the message say?"

"It only said goodbye Olivia. And it was from Kathy!" Elliot tried to hold back his tears.

"Okay sir. We're gonna change the charges from attempted murder, to murder in the first degree. She'll probably get 25+, since she murdered a detective!"

"Okay. But officer, Olivia had a 1 1/2 year old son, which she adopted. What's gonna happen with him?" Elliot asked scared of Noah ending up in fostercare.

"Olivia had a lawyer and a testament, and her lawyer is coming down here to talk with you guys. He should be here by now, so if you can gather all the team, and go to Casey Novak's room, he'll meet you there." The officer said opening the door.

Five minutes later everyone where in Casey's room, all nervous on what tge testament would say.

"Did anyone of you guys know she had a testament?" Alex asked.

"I didn't even know she had a lawyer!" Casey said.

"What if Noah ends up in fostercare?" Elliot asked scared.

"She probably wanted you to take care of him." Nick said a bit annoyed.

He still didn't like Elliot.

"I hope so." Elliot said not noticing the mad eyes of Nick.

Just then the door opened and a man came in.

"Hello, I'm Aaron Jacob, Olivia Benson's attorney."

Everyone said politely hello to him, and then he took a stack of papers out of his briefcase.

"Okay, I know this is hard for you guys, but now that Olivia's dead, we have to talk about her stuff.

She made her testament while she was in the hospital, and she's given me notes to say to all of you.

First one is to a Casey Novak. "Dear Casey. You will always ve my very best friend. You know everything about me and vice versa. You have a husband now, and soon you'll have a little kid running around. You've been so helpfull with Noah, and I will be forever gratefull for that. I know you would have taken him in without considerration, but I don't think it would be fair on Benjamin or your child. They are your family, and you shouldn't worry about mine.
