Who Was My Mother?

Chapter 8

16 years earlier

Author's POV

"Hi Liv! You're late what's going on?" Nick asked when Olivia walked into the precint.

"Uhm, could I maybe talk to all you guys in Cragen's office? I that's okay with you cap'n" she said looking at Cragen. "Yeah sure. Everyone come here!"

A minute later everyone were there. Fin and Casey, who knew what this was about, Alex, Cragen, Nick, Amanda and Melinda who had no idea. Noah was sitting in Amanda's lap.

Olivia closed the door and took a deep breath.

"I can't work at the moment." She started. "You want vacation?" Cragen asked confused. "No it's not that.." She started but got interrupted once again. "You're quitting?" Alex asked. "Nono. I.. I-I.." She stuttered. "Olivia what is it?" Melinda asked concerned. "I'm gonna be hospitilized for some weeks.." "What?!" Amanda asked. "But why?" Melinda asked confused now.

"I have.. I've been diagnosed with.. ..cancer..."

A silence spread across the room. Everyone were in shock. Fin and Casey already knew, but they still couldn't quite believe it.

The only noice you heard was Noah playing with a small car.

"What kind of cancer?" Melinda quietly asked after a minute or so. "Breast cancer. The doctor said that I have a 60% chance of fighting it of, but it can go the other way, and I might loose the fight."

No one really knew what to say, instead they just hugged her. A big group hug, where no one wanted to let go. After like two minutes just hugging, Fin's phone rang.

"I'm sorry.. I've awaited this call." He said and went out of the office to answer it.

"When will you be hospitilized?" Nick asked. "Tomorrow. They'll start me on chemo." Olivia answered.

The day went quickly. Far too quickly for Olivia.

In the evening, she went home and out a cartoon on for Noah. Frozen. They both sat on the couch all snuggled up, and watched the movie. Noah loved Frozen, Olivia liked it too.

By the time the movie was over, Olivia put little Noah to bed. She kissed him goodnight and turned of the light. "I love you pumpkin." She whispered. "I.. Vuw yooou." Noah whispered back.

Olivia had tears in her eyes when she closed the bedroom door. She really loved Noah with all her heart!

Casey drove Olivia to the hospital the next morning. She was gonna watch Noah while Olivia was in the hospital. She was gonna visit evey morning and evening, and when Olivia would feel well, she would have Noah at the hospital during the day. Olivia was so scared. She didn't say a single word during the drive to the hospital.

All three of them entered the hospital and Olivia went to talk to her doctor while Casey and Noah were sitting in the waitingroom.

After twenty minutes or so a nurse came over to Casey.

"Miss Benson has been admitted to the hospital now. She's in room nr. 402, you can go see her if you like, she'll start her chemo in about half an hour." The nurse explained.

Casey took Noah, and went to Liv's room.

"Hi Liv." Casey said when she entered the room and close the door. She put Noah on the bed, and Liv put her arms around ger boy. "Casey are you sure you can watch Noah? You should be on your honeymoon! I'm so sorry for all of this!" Olivia started. "Oh shut up. I love Noah, and I'm looking forward to watching him! Btw: I got some news, you're the second to know, I've only told Benjamin."

"What is it?!" Olivia said all excited.

"I'm pregnant!" Casey squeeled!
