Jungkook grinned as he enters the place that he ever-so loved, Heavenly Cream. The cafe has always been so welcoming and warm, something he appreciated from day one. The aroma of coffee beans instantly hitting him and it continues to get stronger as he made his way to the kitchen. He bursts in through and said excitedly "Jimin-hyung? I'm hungry!", but to his disappointment, the grey-haired barista wasn't there.
An obvious pout starts to form and he continued looking around until the owner of the cafe ruffled his hair, making him jump in his spot. "Surprised to see me?" Jin asked with his famous striking smile, the grin popularly known for stealing the customer's hearts. "Have you seen Jimin-hyung?" Jungkook asked, removing his gaze from the older and peeking through the kitchen window. Jin laughed behind him and leaned on the counter "So you're not here to see me? I haven't seen you in a long time, you busy bunny."
Jungkook looked back and his expression softens, his arms wrapping around the oldest barista. Giving him a small smile, red brushed across his cheeks as he looked down to his fingers "I like seeing you too Jin-hyung, how are you?"
The older chuckled and rests his arm on the younger's shoulder, leaning on to him as they watched the customers in the cafe "I've been good, kid, just working here in Heavenly Cream. I'm just focusing on this, only because I actually love the place. I declined another modelling gig because I'd rather work here now.". "Don't you miss modelling though?" Jungkook asked, looking at Jin's face for any sign of change but Jin smirked and gave him a side look "Pay is better but I'd rather seduce real women than the camera."
They both laughed, Jin starts to move around the kitchen and continued making the orders, Jungkook helping as much as he can. After a batch of orders, Jin's voice was a bit muffled from the freezer but Jungkook understood his question "What have you been doing? And why are you looking for Jimin?". Jungkook placed down the tray on the table and looked at Jin's direction "I've been good, still on-going with my project with Taehyung-hyung.". The owner came out with frozen ice cream tubs, his eyebrows furrowed with something Jungkook can't point out, annoyance or just tussling through the work.
"You're still with that guy? He's arrogant and an asshole-" "He's not that bad hyung." Jungkook softly giggled by the hostile language. Jin raised an eyebrow sassily and placed his hand on his waist, his voice almost scolding "You have to be careful with the cunning asshole. He's so full of himself." the photographer nodded and leaned on his counter towards the oldest barista "What did he ever do to you that you hate him that much?"
Scoffing, the blonde male grabbed a spatula and pointed it to Jungkook aggressively "Nothing, he's just a dick.". This made Jungkook burst out laughing and taking a hold of the spatula away from his face, "He's fine hyung." Jin just rolled his eyes and said: "Just be careful, okay?" "Okay hyung, if you say so."
"Jimin's at home by the way." The hyung said as he wiped the countertop. The younger asked "Why is he at home? Isn't his shift supposed to be now?" Jin gave him a half smile, "He called in sick, I'm going to visit him once my shift ends. We can go together if you'd like."
With just a simple offer, Jungkook nodded quickly and continued helping. The weight on his back tightened slightly, maybe because the younger just got off from work but when he let out a heavied breath, Jin looked at him with concern and took the washcloth from the photographer. "You don't look so good, you should head inside. I'll make you your Cappuccino." "But-" "Go ahead, you don't work here. My shift is ending soon so I'll meet you at your table, okay?"
He headed out of the kitchen reluctantly, Jungkook did want to help. Though he does feel a bit queasy especially with knowing Jimin was sick, what he felt didn't matter that much. All he could do was slump down in his seat and sadly sip on his freshly-brewed Cappuccino.
As the painted-sunset start to sink down and dissolved any saturation of warmth in the sky, Jin took off his apron and hung it on the hook by the kitchen door. The jolly red-haired fixed his nametag and smiled widely to Jungkook as he began to exit the coffee shop "I'll take it from here Jin-hyung. Take care of Jiminie, Jungkook!" Hoseok waved goodbye and let the two others head out.
Jungkook shivered by the brush of cold to his skin but was incredibly determined as he unknowingly starts to speed walk. "Wait for me bunny," Jin called out from a couple of blocks away, not even bothering to catch up or run with him.
However, it's as though every sound was blocked, except the sound of his thudding footsteps on the pavement. His thoughts echoed the barista's name and as he reached for the front door's knob, it was the name that he yelled out. 'Jimin-hyung?', even the front door was unlocked, it worried the younger male. From the nights he had stayed in this residence, it was though he memorized every detail and room in Jimin's house. He carefully looked around to see if anything was stolen or misplaced, any sign of disturbance but thankfully, the place looked the same. With quiet steps and his feet going on tiptoes as he walked near the barista's room, he peeked in the room with caution.
Jimin was in bed, snoring peacefully as the curtains above his head swayed with grace. Lights from the street and the moon entered, giving out a playful shine to his hair and his pale face. The serenity of the room eased Jungkook's tensed shoulders and a small smile played on his lips. He tiptoed to the window, although Jimin prefers it to be open during nights, the cold from outside could worsen his situation. His every movement was careful, trying to be as silent as possible while he closes the window, but the wooden floor creaked, causing the older to steer.
"Kookie-?" He whispered looking up at the younger's shadowed figure. Jungkook kneeled down on the floor and his hazy eyes connected with Jimin's exhausted ones, but they still show such kindness and admiration. "Hey there Jimin-hyung." his voice was gentle and smooth to the older's ears, giving him calmness despite his condition. Jimin moved away, giving the other space to climb in the bed with him, "What are you doing here?". The hoarseness of his voice made it obvious that he was sick so the younger male stood up and grabbed a water bottle from his bedside table 'Drink up." With a bit of difficulty, the barista sat up and leaned on the wall, taking the bottle and gulping slowly, "Gah, sour throat." He weakly commented as he sets down the bottle and laid back down.
"Do you need anything hyung?" He placed his hand on his forehead, feeling the heat radiate on his skin, though his body shivered like a chill. Jungkook sighed "You have a fever...", and off he went to the bathroom, getting a damp towel and the barista's medicine box. When he went back into the bedroom, in deep slumber did Jimin return to. His heavy breathing sounds so fitting in the quietness of the room, Jungkook was just glad that he's resting.
Setting the towel down on his forehead, Jungkook settled down on the floor and looked up to his sleeping hyung. His arms beneath his resting head as he continued to stare caringly, "I'll take care of you this time hyung. I'll help you get better. Goodnight."
