Jungkook yelled out jokingly "Jimin-hyung! Stop making me laugh!". The barista chuckled from the counter as he wiped the spilt coffee "I'm sorry! Okay okay I'll stop!". The photographer adjusted his striped blue shirt and lifted his camera to his face once again, the smile still lingering on his lips. He was in a bending position, a knee on the wooden wax floor and his arms rested on the other as a stabilizer, the camera was on his models. As he was near to going back to his concentrated state, the cheeky barista tiptoed to the younger. The friendly customers stared at him with amused looks. The people in the cafe grew familiar to the duo and they just happily observed them as they do their works every day.
Snapping a few photos of the couple who was aware of his presence but with his order to look carefree and oblivious, Jungkook contentedly proceeded with his shoot. Through the lenses, the young couple looked at something behind the photographer, both of their gazes following whatever it was. Curious, Jungkook slightly looked up from his camera and a pair of heavy hands touched his shoulder. "Boo!" Jimin scared him and the photographer yelped from the shock, bolting up. The couple and the customers laughed at this cute prank, continuously watching them. Jungkook looked up at the barista and hit his shoulders, earning him a playful laugh. "I told you to stop it!" he said and Jimin replied "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Okay, that's the last one.". The younger's eyes narrowed with doubt but his toothy grin was contrasting. The barista went back to the counter as the photographer went back to his work. Everything went back to normal.
"Jungkookie~" Jimin's sweet voice called out from the kitchen. Jungkook looked up from his laptop and checked the time: 5:45 am. "Jungkookie?" The photographer questioned as he pushed his chair out and walked towards the familiar kitchen door. The cheerful barista burst the door open, a brown sticky substance was on the corner of his lips "Yeah? Don't you like it?". The photographer stared at the strange thing "Uhm. No, it's fine.". Jimin smiled at him "Cute isn't it? Just like you! You're cute!" he said in a teasing tone, an instinctive blush surfaced on Jungkook's face "Yah! Ji-Jimin-hyung! Stop that.". "Anyways, you have something on your face." Jungkook's thumb reached on the brown liquid and wiped it with a napkin nearby, this time, it was Jimin's turn to blush. He shook his head, his silky grey hair covered his eyes a bit "Oh.. thank you.". The younger smiled innocently at him and entered the kitchen, the delicious scent welcomed him with delight. And what welcomed him was a huge plate of brownies, neatly plated and ready to be served.
"Jimin-hyung! You have to make me a batch." Jungkook begged as he watched Jimin serve the customers from the table next to him. "You have to order," Jimin replied and went back to the counter. The photographer pouted and looked back to the screen, his current editing displayed. He carried on quietly and he didn't notice that time went by so quickly until the older sat down in his seat in front of him. "You didn't even leave your seat. Aish~ You need to check the time more often or you're going to skip your meals.". The brunette looked up from the screen cluelessly then checked the clock, '2:55 pm'. "Can you please get me another cappuccino? Please?" Jungkook silently said, completely unfazed by the time. Jimin stared at him for a few seconds, the sound of typing and clicking returned and he sighed, it was clear that Jungkook isn't taking a break anytime soon. He walked into the kitchen and made his friend's favourite beverage and just took a water bottle for him. He looked around and saw a newly made grilled cheese sandwich on the countertop, he simply took it and went back to his seat.
Jungkook yawned, covering his nose instead of his mouth and rubbed his eyes. Jimin took a note of that as he took a sip from his bottle, just observing the serene male. The warm sunset rays cast shadows of the photographer's camera and items, making the atmosphere more homely and fall like. Both were tired that was clear. Jimin has the choice to leave the busy one, but he didn't want to. He didn't talk much, just mumbled a few phrases, and he didn't notice the barista yet Jimin felt settled - Jungkook was nice company even in silence. Jimin took the chance to think a lot but his mind always comes back to the younger boy. For weeks, maybe even a month, he was delighted that each passing day, Jungkook smile grows. He remembers how he fidgets and nervously looks down the floor before but now he's able to comfortably laugh and have fun with him. He was also unpredictable. The barista would never thought that the other was a professional photographer, freelance of course. It's been amazing spending time every day with Jungkook, discovering new quirks every time. He was able to open up more drinks to the younger and he would be contented that he would all love his recommendation, but the fact that he comes back to one drink made Jimin's heart swell in joy. There was something about Jungkook that makes him pleased with all their jokes and fun but at the end of the day, the look of calmness and that toothy grin gives of that laid-back atmosphere that he grew to love.
Jimin glanced at the clock boredly and huffed in defeat, its so late and Jungkook has only eaten one brownie all day. He casually fished in his pockets and his hand felt the surprisingly warm plastic wrapped sandwich from earlier. Taking it out, his stomach grumbled in hunger but he stole a glimpse of Jungkook, hardworking as he continues his work without stop. He knew that disturbing the other would only lead to nothing. Unconsciously, he tears a little piece of the food and carefully reached towards the other's mouth. As if normal, Jungkook opens his mouth and let the savoury bread in. Jimin gulped and was unable to look away as the bunny-like male bites down on the food and hums in delight.
Jungkook finally snapped out of the trance and his eyes widen in surprise. He begins to stutter like he hasn't done in a long time "J-Jimin hy-hy-ung?". He didn't know if he was just shocked or disgusted, the blush spreading across his face wasn't helping either. The older male also backed away, rose tint forming in his cheeks, "I'm sorry. That's probably too much.". The blur of the moment soon fade away and the photographer's mind starts to clear up, gaining back his composure. "I-It's okay. I g-guess..." He shyly whispered and looks down at his laptop keys.
Jimin just couldn't stop staring at the other. He was fascinated by how one moment he's a carefree person behind the camera, always smiling and laughing with him, then another moment he's a blushing, stuttering mess, shyness overcoming him.
Jimin thought, Jungkook really is an interesting but unpredictable company.
