In Front Of You - Jikook

Jungkookie: Hyung, do you know how to skateboard?

-Yeah. Last time I went skateboarding, I was 17.

Jungkookie: Oh great! Do you wanna go skateboarding with me?

-You have a skateboard?

Jungkookie: Yeah! Two :)

- Wow, okay. When?

Jungkookie: Your shift is supposed to end now. If you're not tired, we could go now.

Jimin looked up at the clock, it's true. His shift ended just now, signalling Hoseok to come in the cafe exactly in that moment. He looked at Hoseok, how greeted him as normal. He went in the kitchen with Hoseok "I'll go now. Bye Hobi-hyung." and started leaving. Hoseok peered up as he's tying his own apron "Why are you in a hurry? You usually don't want to leave the cafe after your shift. Where are you going?" he questioned him.

Jimin stopped in front of the back door, slowly turning around and smiled awkwardly "I-uhm...I'm just going home.". The red-haired raised an eyebrow "You do know you're bad at lying Jimin.". The grey-haired started to shift on his feet nervously, it was that obvious he's lying but he continued on "I'm not lying. I'm just- I'm going home!". The older one took a few steps towards him, curiosity bubbling inside the lively red-haired "Where are you going Jimin-ah? I'm not letting you leave if you won't let me where you're going."

Jimin lowered in uncertainty, knowing that he won't escape this at all, his hyung knows him too well. He backed away until his back was against the door. "I'm going to..." he began "I'm going skateboarding!" and in an instant, he bolted out the door and ran to the street. Hoseok's eyes widen, this made him more irritatingly eager and annoyed that he won't have an answer now "What?! Skateboarding?! Where!? Who are you going with?! Jiminie!!" He yelled all those out but the younger ignored him. The red-haired barista could only shake his head and enter back in the cafe, promising himself that he must interrogate the other later on.

Black converses tapped on the cement sidewalk with the beat. The soothing indie music poured gently in his ears while he's leaning on the front fence of his house, Jungkook looked up at the pale sunset above him. He hummed along with the beat of the song, his white earphones plugged in his ears as he remained in his own world. Two skateboards are resting beside him, one black and one white. The brunette waited for the text of his hyung, hoping that he would agree to his offer.

He hasn't noticed the grey-haired male, ambling towards the house he remembered was Jungkook's. When he saw the younger resting on the fence, music plugged in his ears and waiting for him. Jimin silently ambled towards the male who was facing the other direction and once he was near, he gripped on the male's shoulders "Yah!". Jungkook was easy to scare, so he yelped out loudly and turned to him. Facing Jimin, he punched his arm in defence "You have to stop scaring me like that!". Jimin muttered an "Ow" and chuckled softly at the brunette, "You're too cute not to scare." causing Jungkook to blush, the redness was more vibrant than his usual ones.

Jimin only realizing what he said, bit his bottom lip, in both surprise and resistance. He didn't want to make the situation awkward so he tried to go past it "I-I..uhm. So! Skateboarding huh?". Surprisingly, his attempt worked as Jungkook's expression lights up in excitement. "Here! You can choose which skateboard you want to use." The younger brought the two skateboards in front of the other, letting him decide. "I'll try to use the black one, if I can still skateboard that is." Jimin chuckled to himself to hide his nervousness. Jungkook nodded and set down the black one. Jimin stared at the skateboard and set his foot on it. He started to move slowly, taking a few pushes until he placed both feet on the board. The familiar feeling of the smooth ride came back to him after many years and he can't help but grin as the pumping adrenaline surged through him.

He started going faster, moving along the sidewalk and carefully avoiding other people and he was loving it. Before he would reach a different street, he looked back and with awe, he watched as the brunette effortlessly caught up to him. 'I swear I left him when I sped up in that one turn.' Jimin thought and smiled as the other paused beside him. The streetlight was red and Jungkook said "Wow hyung, you caught on it quickly." and Jimin nodded. An idea popped on the barista's head and with excitement, he said to the other "Come with me." The streetlight in front of them turning vibrant green and they crossed to the other street side by side. Pedestrians of all ages watched them in amusement, and all of them parted to create space for the two friends.

They rode until it's dark. After racing through sidewalks, showing off a few tricks and daringly skateboarding in the middle of the road before getting honked at, they finally arrived at the location Jimin was leading them. It was a huge public park, filled with a few people just hanging out. There were mostly teenagers, grouped in their own cliques and quietly chatting or playing. Trees and plants were neatly going along the park's outer shape, the concrete pathways were a bit narrow, but enough for Jungkook and Jimin to skateboard in. They passed different types of flowers and plants, the grassy part of the place was beautiful and utterly peaceful. The wind was cooler in this area, as the trees harmoniously sway and the leaves lightly falling off their branches. The ride was smooth and quiet, contended on how the two males were going. Jimin took the lead forward and turned to a secluded part of the park. Jungkook followed him silently and when they entered, he stopped and took in the beautiful sight in front of them.

There was a fountain in the middle of the cemented place. There weren't many grassy areas in this part of the park, the brunette assumed this was the heart of the restored eco-land. The water is beautifully pouring out of the elegant statue with simple yet playful swirls and wonderful patterns. Many small lights shone from underwater, highlighting the clear waters and coins below.

The younger stepped off of his white skateboard, captivated by the majestic view in front of him. He comes closer, gaping at the water and the lights. Jungkook seems to be completely back in his words, his actions stiff and unaware of anything else. His body was motionless yet in his eyes, this was a completely new world filled with wonder and amazement.

Stepping off the black skateboard, Jimin took the white with him and went towards the other. There he was once again, in his own world of bewilderment and all he can do was just stare at him, unable to do anything until he gets out on his own. Jimin thought, Jungkook maybe be naive and very easy to please by simple things but, it's not just simple things for Jungkook. It has never been simple things to the younger male, his mind filled with curiosity but his shyness prevents him to explore. Maybe, Jimin thought, this is the first time Jungkook has wondered this much. Even with so many trips in his past, it's different with a friend, a real friend.

Knowing that Jungkook's fascination wouldn't end this fast, Jimin looked around. A friendly ice-cream pushcart was parked efficiently near the fountain. He looked back and forth between the other and the ice-cream cart. Jimin silently walked towards the other direction, leaving Jungkook along in his world.
