"Why doesn't she want to see us?" Miko asked.
"To be honest, she's very mentally unstable right now and she needs to heal. All you can do is give her time, she doesn't want you all to see her like this anyways." Ratchet said.
"And you and Optimus can?" Arcee asked with an eyebrow cocked.
"I'm her physician and her father for one and Optimus refuses to leave. He feels guilty about leaving his charge and the fact that she got hurt because he wasn't here." Ratchet replied.
"Understandable, but when can we see her?" Jack asked.
"When she's ready. Now, I need to go back in and check on something." Ratchet excused himself. Bots and humans alike shared looks of concern and defeat.
"She'll be alright guys, she's in the best hands possible." Arcee comforted and everyone nodded in agreement.
"Well what do we do now?" Raf asked.
"We wait. We're the first responders for Decepticon attacks right now so we have to be alert. But we do have a few options. You can go on drives or play video games." Bulkhead said.
"Video game tournament!" Miko shouted and the kids all ran for the couch, leaving the bots to themselves.
"Arcee, did you see what happened?" Bumblebee asked.
"No, all I saw was Optimus scoop her up and all the blood in the snow." Arcee said with the slightest shiver.
"It must've been pretty bad then for Optimus to refuse to leave the medbay." Bulkhead said.
"Yeah I've never seen him do that before, not even when Elita got her arm torn off that one time." Arcee said curiously.
"You don't think?" Bumblebee said suggestively.
"No way, we would've figured it out by now, right?" Bulkhead questioned.
"With how he's reacting and the fact that Ratchet hasn't kicked him out is pretty convincing." Arcee said.
"We'll have to wait and see."

"Hold still, I know it's uncomfortable but I need to rewrap it." Dad nagged. I sighed and sat still as he wrapped my throat."There, not so bad now is it?" He mused. I rolled my eyes with a sigh and laid my head back against the wall. "They really want to come in and see you by the way. I know you don't want them to but maybe it'd make you feel better."
I shook my head and glared at the ceiling. Dad sighed and patted my leg before getting up. "I want you to try speaking again. I know it's only been a couple of days, but with your accelerated healing, it's impossible to know how long it will take. And now that you're able to breath normally again is a great improvement compared to yesterday."
I sighed and nodded before he gave me the sheet with multiple sentences on it. The first one was 'Today is January 6, 2019'. The only thing that came out was a whisper.
When the scraplet attacked my neck, several of its teeth sank a lot deeper than the others. The teeth had gone through the skin, through the thyroid cartilage, and punctured my airway while also pushing my vocal cords together. Doing so stopped my breathing and bruised or strained almost every muscle and ligament in my larynx. Everything hurt and ached as I tried to talk, but honestly I wasn't too optimistic that I would ever be able to talk normally again. The only reason I can whisper is because my vocal cords can tighten, but only by an eighth of an inch compared to the normal half inch. This rendered me semi-mute and in lots of pain.
