They had been sleeping in the same bed ever since they left the tower, but there was something different since she pulled him into the water that night. He'd been shocked and a little upset at first. She'd made a break for the tent the second he went under. She'd been able to throw a light dress over her small frame before he leapt after her, roughly tackling her to the ground.

"You were right."

Loki dried his hair thoughtfully with a towel. He turned to look at her as she poked at a blemish on her face in the bathroom mirror of the motel. It had been a few days since they'd left the forest behind, and she'd snuggled up against the frost giants' cool body nearly every chance she had. He wasn't fond of it at first; weeks in a tent in the summer heat weren't ideal conditions for his kind. When they saw the run-down motel silhouetted against the sunset on the horizon they decided it would be best to stop.

The motel was in the middle of nowhere, so they were forced to eat the food they had leftover from camping. The rooms looked like they hadn't been updated in 30 years and a thin layer of dust covered the room when they first entered. Other than that it was relatively clean, and the air conditioner worked, which was the most important thing.

"I know I was." He look at her quizzically, sitting on the edge of their double bed..

"You don't even know what I am talking about." She turned to face him, leaning against the counter.

"Well I don't have to. I'm always right." He narrowed his eyes dangerously at her lighthearted tone.

"Asta I'm being serious, I would like to talk to you." She softened when his shoulders slumped forward, his eyes pleading. Sitting down beside him she tucked her feet up under herself, facing him.

"I'm listening. What was I right about?" He didn't look at her, he simply looked down at his own hands.

"That I was able to break Odin's spell. I broke it a long time ago. It still bothers me. Growing up my entire life thinking I'm one thing and then one day," he looked over at her, tears threatening to spill from his beautiful green eyes. "One day finding out that I'm the one thing all of the nine realms fear. I am the thing - the monster - that people tell stories about. That children have nightmares of."

She was unsure of how to comfort him. She had moved to extend her hand and quickly decided against it.

"I hate them. I hate it..him. And I don't know how not to." Her heart broke for him when he looked over at her. He was filled with fear, sorrow and self-loathing, and she hated to see him in such a state. "Asta you've been so good to me, if I didn't know better I'd even think you were fond of me," she smiled at him, hoping she was being encouraging, but he was avoiding her gaze, once again staring at his hands

"I'm sorry I don't really know what has come over me I just...I feel like it's important for you to see me...as I am."

With that he let his illusion slide and slowly his true jotunn form show. She found herself completely drawn to him and before she could stop herself she had his hand in hers. He looked at her in puzzlement as she softly traced the ridges on the back of his hand.

"Look, I know you're having trouble with this," she paused, softly biting her lip as she thought about how to proceed. "You are Loki. Just because this is your heritage does not mean that it is who you are. But you also have to learn to accept that it is a part of you. It's not like you can control who your parents are." She laughed softly and looked up into his blood red eyes. "Else I would have had good parents."

She pushed herself up on her knees and took his face between her hands before pressing her golden lips to his cool blue ones. He flinched at first, but quickly relaxed, melting at her kind, soft touch. His hand instinctively went to her hip as she pulled back and searched his face, landing on his eyes.

"You're still you. If it helps, I still think you're beautiful."

She stood up, moving to stand between his legs before tucking a piece of hair behind his ear. His heart pounded in his chest as she leaned closer. She placed a feather light kiss to his forehead, then each cheek, his nose, his chin, before lightly brushing her mouth against his bottom lip. Hovering. He felt heat flare in the pit of his stomach and he hungrily closed the gap, connecting their lips as if his life depended on it. He kissed her so urgently that it caught her off guard, and she placed his hands around her waist, draping hers over his shoulders. His tongue demanded entrance and she gladly accepted, tangling her fingers gently in his damp hair. He was breathing heavily when he pulled away.

"You are not repulsed by me?" She shook her head instantly.

"How could I be?"
