❝ Our lives may not have

fit together,

but ohhh did our souls know

how to dance. ❞

Asta forced her eyes open as Logan tossed and turned between the sheets. It was late afternoon, and the sun came in golden through the windows. Still half asleep, she was unable to understand the source of his agitation, quickly squeezing her eyes closed again. Logan bellowed suddenly, and she felt something sharp pierce her side. It took her a while to register what was going on. She opened her eyes, the searing pain taking her mind and body to full alertness, adrenaline coursing through her veins.

"Logan. Logan wake up. You have to wake up its just a dream."

On command he opened his eyes to see his claws buried deep in her side. He looked into her face worriedly.

"Shitshitshit Asta."

"Fuck Logan," she whined as he retracted the metal slowly from her side. Almost as quickly as they left, her wounds clotted and began to knit themselves closed.

"Hank was right." Logan smiled brightly in excitement as she glared at him, breathing heavily.

"What if he hadn't been? Shit Logan you could've killed me!" She pulled the pillow out from under her head and smacked him with it before laying still. The lingering alcohol made the room spin painfully. "Damn did we like, y'know, again?"

He laughed. "I think you just need to accept that this is what happens when we see each other. It's our thing." She ran her hands over her face and he grabbed her wrist, shimmying closer to pull her in for a hug. "It's just sex. You can't convince me you get some when I'm not around." He cocked an eyebrow and she blushed madly.

"I-I can't actually remember the last time I had sex," she laughed, burying her face in his chest. "That's embarrassing. Actually I don't remember this time either."

"Nah Sig that's life. You take it when you can get it. We work alright like this." She paused at the mention of her old code name.

"Sig." The name tasted funny on her tongue. "That was so long ago Lo, I'd almost forgotten."

They laid in silence for a while, before she spoke up again.

"I met a guy, Logan."

He grunted. "Yeah, what's he like?"

"He's  kind of a bad guy, but he's got a good heart," she mused aloud.

"Mm so he's just like me then." She hit his chest playfully.

"No, he's cleaner, much more educated. And he's a prince. From space. Actually come to think of it, I'll probably never see him again."

"Ast, it sounds like you're talking about some far out fairyland shit." He laughed as she jabbed her fingers into his side. "If he's the right one, he'll come back. They always do."
