Faye:
Our dance in the first live show had gone amazing. We were at the top of the leaderboard, tied with Ashley and Pasha. Knowing what a fantastic dancer Ashley is, this felt like such an honour. Her and I are already sharing a great friendship and Giovanni is getting along brilliantly with Pasha too, it's perfect.
Nevertheless in this show someone is going to be eliminated now. The public will decide which dance couples will compete against each other in the dance-off and then the judges will decide which of them will be performing in next week's show again. And as Ashley and me are now definitely defined as the obvious 'ringers' of this season, I wonder if we're going to be in the dance-off. Honestly, I can't tell. But good dancers have been in the dance-off before.
Giovanni and me are dancing a Viennese Waltz in this show and rehearsals are going less good. Not only that I keep getting ridiculously dizzy (which he said is normal for a Viennese Waltz) but the whole choreography is so confusing. I decide that this is not going to be my favourite dance.
"Can we have a small break, please?" I ask, falling down on the couch while the room gladly stops spinning.
"Of course. Do you need a bit fresh air?" he offers and I assume that I probably am pale as heck.
"No, I'm good." I say, exhaling. "I just need a few minutes, please."
"Of course." he smiles, taking a seat too and seemingly scrolling through social media.
I take my phone out too, opening the Steps group chat. I hesitate on what to write for a moment before typing something.
'Hi guys! xx' is the best I can come up with.
H answers immediately. 'Hi dancing queen! How's your day going? What dance have you got?'
'Viennese Waltz. It's going ridiculous.' I answer. I see that Claire is online too, seeming to type a long answer.
'Sweetie, no one expects you to be perfect yet. Besides the fact that you were perfect in the last show but you'll be just fine. Do you want to talk on the phone this evening? Seems like you need a few words of encouragement from your lovely friends.'
'That would be lovely, thank you.'
'You know, she's correct Faye-Faye.' Lisa answers.'You'll be perfectly fine. You'll nail that Viennese Waltz just like you nailed the Cha-Cha-Cha. Also there are worse celebs on this show.'
'Lisa!' Claire answers, adding an angry emoji.
'What? It's the truth, isn't it? Lee, help me out!' Lisa answers.
Lee's answer immediately follows.'Lisa's correct. Faye is brilliant and it would be ridiculous if she's in the dance-off this week. Her Cha-Cha-Cha was outstanding!'
I smile at their encouraging words, immediately feeling more happy and satisfied.'Guys, I love you all so much. I'm off to keep rehearsing now but we'll speak in the evening, okay? xx'
They all send words of agreement and I put my phone aside, placing it back in my bag. Giovanni smiles as I tell him that we should go back to focusing on the dance now and he even tells me a good advice on how to stop getting dizzy during the dance. I should simply focus on a certain spot - apparantely that's the advice the pro dancers follow too.
Weirdly, it actually works out - which makes rehearsing the whole thing a lot easier. I still struggle though. Not with the dance but with my confidence. Whenever I think I got more confident, it's time for dress rehearsals and seeing the other celebs dancing as amazing as they do, my confidence goes back to low again. I can't even help it; no matter what Giovanni says, no matter how he's encouraging me. I feel like messing up.
