Giovanni:
Since telling Steps and my dance mates about our engagement, the media obviously got to know about our engagement too. Gladly there weren't too many hateful comments but sadly we still found ourselves having to read some really nasty stuff.
Stuff like "Gio, how can you marry her? She's much older than you!" - that was one of the many comments Faye read. She immediately cried, saying that this is the truth, she's too old for me and she doesn't know what I see in her. I assured her that age doesn't matter to me - and also, it's not like she's that much older than me. Several years, yes. But so what? I love her and don't care if she's older than me.
There also were comments about how she'd use me to boost her career. This was truly a horrible, nasty comment. Faye wouldn't ever hurt someone on purpose, she's one of the kindest persons I've met so far and I know she truly loves me. All my previous girlfriends cared about my looks, nothing but my looks, they rarely cared about character. But she does. I could walk around in my ridiculous Charleston outfit and she wouldn't care as long as I am nice.
I just don't know how people can be so nasty. I knew that social media offers them a place to be hateful in anonymity but I didn't know people could become proper bullies.
I sigh and put thesw thoughts aside; smiling as I watch Faye running towards me like a young schoolgirl. Another comment of some anonymous bullies was that she looks much older than she is too... which is such a lie. If anything, she looks much younger than she actually is. With or without make-up, she's a beautiful person. "Hey my little puppet." I greet her, making her laugh as I refer to her as 'little' - a joke between us, since she's taller than me.
"Buongiorno." she says in a broken Italian and I laugh back; realising that I must sound equally shy when speaking English. It's sweet however how her English accent shines through whilst, whenever I'm speaking English, my Italian accent shines through as well. "Come stai?"
I smile at the way she wants to speak Italian, saying she wants to learn it for me - and to be able to speak to my parents. "Sto bene, e tu?" I say, more fluent than her for obvious reasons.
She thinks for a moment, probably not knowing the correct vocabulary, so she answers something else instead. "Ti amo."
I grin back, kissing her cheek. "Ti amo molto."
"What does that mean?" Faye asks while I unlock the car.
"It means 'I love you so much'." I explain, blushing slightly. Heck even after all those months she still manages to make me be shy... whereas I hopefully am helping her to get less shy. "How was your day? You've had nice shows?"
Usually she's got a show during the day and then one in the evening, similar to how the Strictly Tour is done but today there's no show in the evening, meaning we've got half of the day off. Or at least I do because Faye will be heading off with her bridesmaids. And yes, she chose Lisa and Claire as her bridesmaids, obviously, as well as Ashley. She'll meet with them to not only go shopping but also for a bit of freetime. I guess that Lisa made that idea, especially because she's quite a party girl - compared to Claire who might like shopping but probably would prefer something more relaxed like going to a spa or something. Obviously I know that they'll look for a wedding dress too but I don't want to be too obvious.
"I've had a good show, thank you. Although I'm probably not the most liked character in this play." she adds, referring to the nasty role she's playing. A teacher who's talking most of her students down... not a well-liked role but I mean, she's played a witch before and other, mean or... interesting characters. So I doubt this is a problem. "I've already got a new commitment and, don't laugh, but I'll play a witch again. In Snow White."
