A knock echoed through Allie's small apartment, making excited nerves instantly set in stomach. She knew who it would be and so she hurried over to her full length mirror, smoothing down her dark blonde curls, making sure her makeup was still looking perfect and then did a once over on her outfit.
Allie had changed at least four times for this date, going from jeans, to a dress, then to a skirt and eventually landed on a black and white polka dot jumpsuit. She felt like it looked not too dressy and like she was trying too hard, but still nice enough to make her look pretty.
She took a deep breath before opening the door and instantly she felt like her heart melted. There was Chris, standing with a soft smile on his face while holding a bouquet of beautiful flowers in his hands.
"Hi Chris," She happily greeted him.
"Uh hi Allie... wow, you look so beautiful," He couldn't tear his blue eyes away from her until he remembered what he brought her and handed Allie the flowers, "These are for you."
She couldn't believe how incredibly thoughtful he was and she put a hand on the back of his neck, standing on her toes to lean up and kiss his cheek to thank him. He blushed furiously before she hurried back in her apartment to put the flowers down before coming back to Chris.
"You look very handsome," Allie told him, slipping her arm around his while she admired how good he looked with a blue button up shirt tucked neatly into his dark straight legged jeans. His brown hair was slicked back and she could tell his strong jawline was freshly shaven.
"Well, I couldn't show up looking like a slob to take out a pretty girl now could I?" He ducked his head down to look in her eyes, making her giggle. "I was thinking that we could go have dinner and then maybe take a walk... does that sound alright?"
"As long as I get to be with you, I think it sounds perfect," Allie beamed at him, making butterflies erupt in Chris stomach.
The two had walked down the stairs of Allie's apartment and out to the parking lot where she saw a black vintage motorcycle that Chris walked over to. He pulled two helmets off of the handle bars and handed her one before she asked, "Are we taking your motorcycle?"
In that moment, Chris panicked. He realized that this maybe wasn't the best idea... she had probably spent time doing her hair and what if her clothes got dirty? He internally cursed himself for being so dumb while stuttering, "Well I mean... I was thinking we could since you wanted a ride but we don't have to. I can go home really quick and get my car, or I can call an uber or something. I mean I-"
Allie walked up to him and put a hand on his muscular arm before she interrupted Chris to say, "I would love to."
All he could do was smile. He seemed to have being doing a lot ever since Allie came into his life.
Chris helped Allie on with her helmet and secured the buckle underneath her chin before pulling on his warm leather jacket and his helmet, then swung his long leg over the bike. Allie felt her breathing hitch in her throat when she saw the handsome man sitting on the bike. She tried to calm her rapid heart beat before she got on the bike and scooted her body up against his back, allowing her to breathe in his intoxicating musky scent. She then snaked her arms around his middle and could feel his defined abs beneath his shirt which only made her heartbeat race even more, and with her chest pressed up against his back, she knew he could feel it.
He did feel her heartbeat and it made his own pick up to know that she felt that way about him. Chris put his foot on the kickstart and revved the bike to life before pulling out of the parking lot and heading to the road. Allie held onto him tighter as they drove and he smiled to himself, knowing that he could really get used to the feeling of her slender arms securely around him.
