"Hey I don't think I like this," Allie teased as Chris practically drug her along to get out of the building at the end of the workday. Her short legs tried to keep up with his long strides as he held her hand and led her along in the warm California sunshine.

"Why not?" He wondered.

"Because I want to know what the surprise is!" Her cheerful voice laughed.

Chris stopped short, and Allie was hurrying so fast to keep up with him, she ran into him but his strong hands caught her shoulders. He looked down at her and smiled widely before crashing his lips to hers and kissed her so deeply that she was panting when he pulled away.

"Please tell me you're taking me home to your bed," She said with a straight face after Chris' passionate kiss.

He tipped his head back and let out a boisterous laugh before he leaned in to kiss her sweetly and wrap an arm around her waist, "I definitely will be doing that later, but I have a different surprise first."

Allie bugged him the whole way to the parking lot, trying to get the surprise out of him but he wasn't budging. Chris just shrugged once he got on the motorcycle and held her helmet out, "Guess you're just going to have to come with me and find out what the surprise is."

"You're lucky you're cute," Allie joked, leaning in to kiss him before pulling her helmet on and climbing on the back of the bike.

Chris drove to his mother's house where she was keeping the surprise for him and the moment they were in the door, Allie asked, "Lisa! Do you know what this surprise is? I'm dying!"

"You're going to like it, I promise," The kind woman looked between Allie and her son.

At that moment, a small tabby cat came trotting into the living room, ready to investigate the noise. Lisa left the couple alone in the room as Chris went over and gently scooped up the tiny kitten, cradling it in his big hands and brought it over to Allie.

"Awwww, he's so cute!" Allie cooed, reaching out to pet the kittens head. "Did your mom just get him?"

"I uh, I got him for you," Chris's eyebrows arched, awaiting her reaction as he held the cat. "I know that things have been kind of hard for you lately and I guess I just... I dunno, I felt like I couldn't do anything and I guess I just wanted to get something to cheer you up a little."

Instantly there were tears in Allie's eyes. Sometimes she just couldn't believe him. Allie thought that there was no way Chris could be selfish if he tried. He always was thinking of others and knew just the right way to touch her heart. She stood on her toes, put a hand on the back of Chris' neck and kissed him so hard he practically saw stars before telling him, "You are the absolute sweetest man in the entire world and I adore you."

A soft blush covered Chris' cheeks before he leaned back in and pecked at her lips then held out the kitten for her. Allie took him from Chris' arms and cradled it close to her chest, petting it's head while gushing, "Oh he's so cute! Did you hear that little meow, that was so tiny and adorable! I love him."

Chris looked over at his mother who was watching from the doorway and the pair shared a smile, loving to see that his surprise had gone over so well. He then sat down on the couch and Allie came over to snuggle with him while setting the kitten on her lap and buzzed over each little adorable thing that it did.

As he draped a thick muscular arm around her shoulders, Chris asked, "What are you going to name him?"

"Oh obviously Thomas O'Malley, like in The Aristocats. That's easy," The blonde tucked her spiral curls behind her ears and then kept petting the kitten who had curled up in her lap.

He chuckled before telling her, "That's a perfect name."

"I love him so much," Tears gathered in her eyes while she gazed down at the fluffy kitten. "And I love him even more because you gave him to me."

Chris leaned in to kiss her cheek, pulling her close to him while explaining, "Well I know things have been hard and I feel bad that I can't do anything for you."

"That's the thing though Chris, you've done so much for me," She turned to look deep into his eyes. "You've been there for me in so many ways and just knowing I have you in my corner means so much to me. I treasure you and I can't even express how much your support has meant to me."

Hearing the tender and sweet words touched Chris' heart and he picked up her hand, pressing a kiss to her knuckles while telling her, "If there's one thing I can promise, it's that I'll always be there for you Allie."

She used her other hand to come rest on his smooth cheek, "I love every single thing about you Christopher Evans."

Chris didn't say anything in response and he didn't need to. He just pulled her close and held her and the tender moment communicated more than any words ever could. Allie had never felt more happy in her life as she did when she was with Chris and it warmed her heart to know that he felt the same.
