*Natalia's POV*

I walked into school the next day, tugging the sleeves of my sweater down. I could see Calum leaning against his locker talking to Ashton, I cautiously walked towards them, "Hey" I smiled weakly.

"Hi Nat" Ashton smiled "Hey" Calum smiled. He obviously wanted Ashton to leave, he looked worried.

Ashton awkwardly said 'bye' and left, Calum instantly wrapped his arms around me, "Where've you been?" he asked "I've just-" I sighed "Can we ditch? I'll tell you everything it's just-" Calum cut me off, "Of course" he smiled.

I intertwind our fingers and motioned for him too come, "Wait," he attached our lips and wrapped his arms around my waist, deepening the kiss.

I smiled when he pulled away, "Let's go" I said. I grabbed his hand again and he smiled weakly.

We got a long distance away from the school, we we're in downtown. It wasn't that busy since everyone was working or in school.

"So, what have you been up to lately?" Calum smirked, "I don't even know where to begin." I sighed, "Is it that bad?" he asked.

"Think of the worst thing you possibly can, worse than that" I said "That's pretty freaking terrible" he said, I giggled.

"So what happened?" he asked, "What didn't happen is the real question" I muttered "Just tell me already!" he whined and nudged me. "Okay, first, Michael beat me up in the middle of the hallway, Ashton came and sopped him so I've basically made peace with him." I started, "How bad is this gonna get?" he asked nervously "Brace yourself, it's pretty freaking horrible" I said, "Anyways, continue".

I sighed, "So the next day Ashton found Mady in the back alley by 22nd and she stabbed herself in the heart, Ashton couldn't save her in time so her called me, and yeah" I said. "You're saying this so casually" he said, he looked terrified. "I'm running out of tears to cry" I said.

He side hugged me and we walked into a nearby bakery. "I'm so sorry Nat" he said, "It's okay, the image will most likely forever haunt me but I'm slowly getting over it" I said.

We quickly ordered and sat down, "So then when I went to tell Connor about it, he took it pretty well so then we we're going over to Madyson's house we we're crossing that busy street and then a semi came speeding around the corner, he pushed me out of the way and he got hit" I said.

He litterally almost choked, "Holy fuck Nat, is he okay?" he asked "He says he is but he isn't" I said.

"For gods sake that's fucking brutal." he said "It's what my life has become" I shrugged. "You say it so casually" he said "I've learned to never expect anything good in life and you'll never be let down".

"What's up with you?!" he asked "What do you mean?" I asked "You're being a downer" he said "Whatever, I haven't been that lucky lately" I rolled my eyes and stood up. I grabbed my coffee and started to leave, I could hear Calum jogging up behind me, "Natalia, wait" he called.

I decided to ignore him, he caught up and grabbed my wrist. I winced and glanced back at him, my eyes full of pain.

"Natalia.." he said in a cautious tone, he started rolling my the sleeve of my sweater, and I let him.

I couldn't hide forever.

He saw only a little bit before pulling me into his embrace, we stood there silent for a while.

"I'm sorry Calum" I said quietly after a while, "It's okay, you have nothing to be sorry for" he said "You're not mad?" I asked, "No, at least not at you" he smiled reassuringly.
