Chapter #23

*Natalie's POV*

I started walking to gym with Connor, "You never explained who you have to break up with" he said "Calum. We got together shortly after we broke up. After Calum got pissed off at me I ran to his house and he ended up kissing me and I felt.. something. I didn't want to be a cheater either so I broke up with you and now I'm in a relationship with Cal" I said and we walked into the gym.

"I'll try not to be hurt" he said playfully "Oh don't even" I said and smacked his arm.

*AFTER SCHOOL*

I met Calum outside the gym and grabbed his hand "Ready?" he asked "I gotta grab a few things from my locker first" I said and we started walking in the direction of my locker. I grabbed my backpack and we headed out of the school.

Ashton was glaring at us from the parking lot so I just ignored him and we continued to walk.

"Do you think your mom will like me?" he asked "I don't know, right now she seems to hate you but she might change her mind. I think she'll like you sooner or later though" I said and he smiled.

We walked up the steps to my house, "Oh god, does my hair look okay? Shit, this shirt has a little stain on it" he said "Calum." I said and lifted his face so he was looking at me "It'll be fine" I smiled and kissed him. "Let's go" I said and opened the door.

"I'm home!" I yelled and we took our shoes off, "I told you I was picking you up" my mom scolded as she walked into the front hall.

"You actually brought him?" my mom asked "I told you I was, didn't I?" I said, she sighed.

"I'm Calum." he said "Last name?" my mom asked him "Hood." he responded "Ahh, I go to a book club with your mum" she said and Calum smiled "Come in" she said.

"I don't even know what happened to her" I whispered to Calum, he smirked, we sat down and my mom started to ask Calum questions.

"What made you change?" she asked "What?" he responded "I know what type of person you we're before this, so what made you change?" she asked.

He looked down, so I decided to answer for him, "We we're paired together for a social studies project and I guess we just needed to get to know eachother better" I said, she nodded but I could tell that she had doubts.

My dad walked into the room, "Is this your boyfriend?" he airquoted "Dad!" I yelled standing up, Calum still didn't let go of my hand. "I'm going to tell you exactly what I told mom. Stop being a bitch and get to know him." I said "Excuse you, but it's not okay for you to call your father a bitch!" he said "Okay, princess, get to know him." I said and stepped out of the way so he could see Calum.

"Hi." Calum said bluntly.

"Come with me." my dad said to Calum and gestured towards the door. I gave Calum a reassuring look and he followed my dad outside.

*Calum's POV*

We sat on their patio and he looked at me, "If you ever hurt my daughter again I am going to kill you, do you understand?" he said "Y-yes, sir" I stuttered.

"What made you act lke that to her?" he asked "I don't know" I said "You don't know? Really? You don't know why you would act like such a asshole and make her come home everyday with a bruised face or in tears cause she or one of her friends we're hurt?" he yelled and stood up "I-I really don't know" I said and held up my arms in defence, "Go to hell, punk" he said and swung a fist at my face, I grabbed his hand when it was about half-an-inch from my face.

"How 'bout no?" I said and punched his stomach. He laid on the ground and I walked away. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and quickly texted Natalia;

Meet me outside

She came outside with a concerned look and my bag, "What happened?" she asked "I don't think he likes me" I laughed "No, but seriously, what happened?" she asked "He got pissed off, tried to punch me, I blocked his punch and hit him in the stomach. That's basically it." I said. She smiled "I've always hated him, good for you" she said and we laughed.

"Want me to walk you home?" she asked "Sure." I smiled, she opened her door and yelled, "I'LL BE BACK IN 15 MINUTES MUM!". "HAVE FUN!" her mom yelled back, I smirked "Let's go" I said.

We walked up to my house and she looked at me "See you tomorrow" she said and kissed me "Bye" I smiled and ran into my house.

I shut my door and yelled "MOM, I'M DRIVING A FRIEND HOME" and walked back outside, "Natalie! Wait!" I said, she looked behind her, she was already halfway down the block. "What?!" she yelled "My mom is forcing me to drive you home" I said "Oh really?" she said and started jogging towards me, "So maybe it was my choice to drive you home" I said and blushed, she smirked.

"I need to go to the grocery store first, you wanna drive me there?" she asked as we sat in my car "Sure, whatever" I sighed.

I pulled up into her driveway after she picked up some things from the store. "I'll see you tommorow" she said and I smiled "Love ya" I said and kissed her cheek.

"Love you too"she said, smiled and shut the car door.
