A/N: Part 2 of the Launch Date episode! Once again I don't own Voltron, Sarah's opinions do not reflect my own, etc etc... Enjoy!
Walking into the mall, Sarah was immediately struck by how familiar the scene was. The mall didn't look at all like how it was originally, but it was the aliens and humans alike that had set up booths to sell their goods that was familiar. An excited buzz filled the air. Taking a look around, she was also surprised that she knew a handful of the alien races. Maybe she was getting her memories back without even realizing it.
"Recognize anything?" Allura asked. She appeared at her friend's side, so when Sarah jumped back out of surprise, it scared Allura too.
Sarah put a hand over her heart. "You scared me, Allura! Yeah, I recognize most of them. There certainly are a lot of humans here." She smiled and glanced at Allura out of the corner of her eye to see her reaction. Disappointment is mainly what was there. "I'm joking. No, I recognize a bunch of the alien races too, and I'm not sure how."
Allura nodded and said nothing more.
Suddenly Nadia let go of Sarah's arm. They had been pressed together the entire walk, so when the chilly air touched their sides they shivered.
"The cold never bothered me anyways," Nadia declared, and took a few steps forward.
Sarah hoped it warmed up a lot by noon, otherwise her date with Keith was going to be pretty chilly.
"Okay!" Nadia exclaimed. She spun on her heel and placed her hands on her hips. "Operation Find Allura A Date Outfit is a go! We'll take it one store at a time and come out of this place successful! Let the hunt begin!"
With that, the girls began walking again. Nadia walked next to Sarah, but the two didn't link arms like they originally had.
"So, are you looking for something to wear too?" Nadia asked.
"Oh, no no no, nope. I'm fine. We were planning on wearing our casual clothes."
"Casual doesn't have to mean usual," Nadia commented. "I mean, you always look good, but maybe we can find something really cute for you."
Sarah shrugged. She didn't really want to do anything fancy. Maybe if they found her a nice shirt she would get it and wear some of her old jeans, but it wasn't at the top of her priority list. Then again... no. She shook her head trying to shove down all fantasies involving a nice romantic dinner. Maybe some other time.
Nadia stopped walking, so Ina and Sarah stopped too. "Ahh..." she sighed. "I love shopping. Don't you guys?"
Ina looked blankly at their friend. "It's a primal urge from when hunting and gathering was a means of survival," she stated.
Nadia's smile fell.
"It's fun when you've got the right people," Sarah commented, ignoring Ina's statement. "And I think I've got the right people." She nudged Nadia's side, which caused her to smile a little.
"It just calms me. Like skydiving!" Nadia smashed her fist into her palm. "Come on! I'm gonna shop this mall so hard!"
Whatever Sarah expected out of Nadia, that wasn't it. To her, she seemed like the kind of girl who couldn't care less about shopping. Maybe she would enjoy clothes shopping for once.
They passed tons of booths. With each little shop, they'd stop and take a little look to see if anything interested them. There was someone selling gemstones, which Sarah stopped to admire for a few minutes before moving on. Another person sold cute figurines of each of the Paladins. She was disappointed to see that she wasn't there. Walking away from that booth, Sarah felt bitter. She understood why Keith did what he did, but that didn't mean she had to like it. It almost felt like she was written out of history.
