"Why are you waiting for me?" she questioned. "I can't possibly be worth all this heartache." With one bit of his sandwich left, Keith ate it quickly and leaned back on his hands to think. After a minute, Sarah started to wonder if he would answer her question. "Because I love you." It was Keith's turn to be nervous, with his insides turning to mush, even though he was the one talking. "And I'm not going to leave you even though you don't remember our relationship."
