It was the same day Mia had hidden behind Aiden in physical education to prevent herself from getting hit by a ball. It was the end of the day and Mia stood before the board, the grip on her straps to her backpack tightened out of nervousness due to different stuff that made Mia anxious. The board on one of the school's walls was filled with colorful papers of different upcoming events but just one caught her eyes.
Luke's party. 10.00 p.m to whatever time. It said with big black letters across the yellow paper in the middle of the board, getting everyone's attention.
That was that party she was going to go to together with Maddox. She felt suddenly nervous. She has never been to a party before and she has heard that some "crazy stuff" happens and she didn't know if she was ready for that although she has no idea what that "crazy stuff" was.
While other people partied life away, Mia was home in her bed, snuggling closer to her brown teddy bear her dad gave her when she was two years old together with fluffy blankets to go with the movie and candy. Oh, how she loved candy just as much as that teddy bear. It was the only thing she had left from her dad and she sleeps with it every night to be reminded he's not gone and will forever be in her heart.
No knowledge and was too innocent of what the outside world was doing.
Mia tilted her head at the paper in her hand, trying to read all that was said on it but it was hard when it was written diagonally.
Suddenly, the hairs on her neck stood up when a presence of a body came up behind her, and that warm hand was placed on her shoulder sending sparkles across her body. And then another hand gripped on Mia's clenched hand around her strap to release it gently— she didn't realize she was gripping so hard. She still had her gaze on the board because she was too afraid to look around her shoulder. Her heart flipped and no one had so much more impact on her than he did. Absolutely no one.
"Why so tense?" He mumbled, breath fanning on Mia's exposed neck making her shiver even more. She swallowed hard and was suddenly even more nervous when he was there.
"I-I'm not." She tried to begin to say, but her voice failed her strongly making her sound more tense and nervous.
She felt his gaze roam on the side of her face, his body walking closer to her. "You are, " Aiden forced gently Mia's hand away from her stronghold on her backpack strap, holding her hand by intertwining their fingers together and rubbed small circles on the back of Mia's hand to smooth it out from being so tense.
Mia let out a relieving sigh and closed her eyes in content, already liking the way Aiden touched her. This was sudden and she couldn't explain it. The way Aiden acted, perhaps he felt the same way too.
But Aiden's hand froze all of a sudden when his eyes dropped to the paper in her hand making Mia snap her eyes open.
"Luke's party?" He questioned. His voice was already on the edge from falling into deep anger which Mia responded by gripping tighter on the paper.
"Um, " Mia swallowed nervously as she shifted so Aiden was standing in front of her with a deep frown. "Y-Yeah, I'm going with Maddox." She answered. She was almost panting by the look Aiden gave her— eyes turning an eerily color, steel-hard eyes making Mia almost crumble as he was towering her by many inches.
Aiden surprised Mia out of nowhere and took the paper out of her hand that held the information of Luke's party and ripped it in half, fast. "Don't go." That permanent glare of his stared at Mia so intense, making her anxious. And she didn't know why Aiden didn't want her to go.
"Wh-why can't I-" Aiden threw a hard glare at her way and sending chills down Mia's spine which made her close her mouth instantly. Her heart did a leap at the dangerous step Aiden took towards her— still with that hard glare. Mia's eyes went wide as she took a step back to meet the board on her back. Her breath hitched as she pressed herself back to the wall as far as possible when Aiden's hands were placed on the wall by Mia's shoulders, trapping her.
